>But the numbers that led to the eventual growth was not exponential. It was a gradual and minimal year to year growth rate. Moreover the majority of revenue, as stated by a prominent comic book industry think tank ICV2, was not generated by the sale of superhero comic books by the industry’s two biggest giants Marvel and DC. Instead, it was because of the sale of Children’s Graphic novels.

If comic books have taught me anything, it's that superheroes never stay dead for more than a couple weeks.
>every superhero movie that gets shit out is making billions of dollars, but is it about to stop????
>Jack Napier
We even have a comic book about how they just won't stay down.
Man oh man do I wish DC would just roll over and die though.
>we are talking about comics
>but but but MOVIES !!!!!!!
Comics, not IPs
>anime avatar
And movies are made by completely different people, no, I repeat, no artist or screenwriter from Marvel / DC was allowed to make a comic movie about Marvel / DC heroes. This is humiliating.
The clickbait news article title asks if it's "the end of superheroes." It does not specify that it simply refers to superhero comics.
>show some facts
>reeeee, it's clickbait
Kidult
>This oddly puts the ball firmly in the court of the superheroes. Kind Friendly Content is driving the industry, with more than 20 per cent of content sold in comic book stores and 39 per cent in book stores being Children’s Graphic Novels. Mangas now constitute 41 per cent of overall sales in the Printed Books Industry. The Capes and Cowls merely constitute 10 per cent and 15 per cent in the comic book and general book stores.
>The clickbait news
>comics market explodes all over the world outside of the usa
>usa get a bad year
>OMG COMICS ARE DONE FOR DEAD DAED DAEDD ADDEEDEADAEDEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Capetrash will end soon. Anyone who thinks the trend will never die is fucking dumb
The whole world is not fixed on political identity, that's where the main difference is. And not only this year has been bad, comic book stores have long been on the brink, this year just final push into oblivion. And direct market is 90% of the profits for Marvel / DC. So use logic if you have at least one brain cell.
>Two changes in general are affecting the industry big time. The first is – the traditional ‘book store channel’ model is flat-lining. Chain & independent bookstores, Amazon and other online retail stores, have already surpassed dedicated comic book stores in North America. Graphic Novel sales, which stood at 635 Million US Dollars in 2018, have also surpassed traditional print sales which were 360 Million US Dollars in 2018. The deficit has only widened in 2020 and there seems to be no way to bridge that gap.

Oh my God Jesus, when you think that liberals can't be so stupid they will always find a way to surprise you.
Despite launching multiple original comic book issues and arcs, only a few of them managed to survive the new age comic book readers’ expectations. A few random and infrequent successes like DC’s Dark Knights: Metal and Doomsday Clock and Marvel’s X-Men Re-launch is not going to change the inevitable. Dark Days lay ahead for your favorite superheroes.
Enjoy it while it lasts folks.

Based. White men enjoying Baki are trustable.
Yes. Western comics did the opposite of basically everything manga did, and are dying because of it. This is just the consequences of that.
>Western comics
>murica=all comics
STFU mutt.
That is correct, Euro-comics are a drop in the bucket compared to American comics. More importantly, Euro-comics don't actually deviate from the system used by American comics, they just want to have Marvel and DC be from whatever European country you choose instead of New York.
God, I wish. But the films will keep this stupid genre afloat.
Really mutt? How about facts.

Big two comics dint sell user.
Most comics sold are funny books for kids, archie, and manga.
Not a fact, there are already rumors that the comics departments will be closed due to unprofitability, there will be only movies, TV series, games.
