CLOSE ENOUGH

Tomorrow’s the day. Will the rest of the show hopefully be better than the 3 that were already released, or is it unfortunately doomed?

It's doomed.

Why not wait until later tonight to start a thread? What's wrong with you?

I’m high as shit!

The show was not horrible, but it feels like it’s trying so hard to be both edgy yet inoffensive.

It’s such a weird combination. Like it wants to make sure it doesn’t offend anyone, but then wants to try to tell everyone to pretend that it’s edgy.

It’s like a show made to be enjoyed by 37-year-old women who shave one side of their head and dye the top part purple, then complete the ensemble with Buddy Holly glasses and a nose ring.

Oddly specific.

Not these days it’s not. These days that’s a type.

are we expecting more episodes than the one already released? technically, HBO never officially released them

Wait, 3? I thought only two episodes were released?

Still pretty good to adult animation standards. Definitely it's not a family show but still enjoyable.
It makes me remember Bob's Burger with more drugs and less work time. Which is pretty nice

>all those weird hbo max promotions sent out to followers of the close enough twitter with boxes resembling the apartments with lots of episodic content like gummy buttholes and some clown stuff and a skateboard etc
Already more merchandise than Regular Show.

Genuinely surprised that Regular Show lasted as long as it did considered its nonexistent merch lines. Unless Hot Topic tees count as merch.

2 on the HBO website (apparently accidentally since they went down after an hour or two and never came back), and another as part of the Annecy festival

100% No Stress Day (Annecy): mega.nz/file/bXJgnYZS#YnOcLTZGiXB48KdKOu5OTO3vSroWPz4nCaZnJ1q9jUU

Episode 1 (HBO Max leak): mega.nz/file/vaAU2YKL#uvAt4oWiPlN5gCUG1jsXXMXmYV0ykE-dJjVMbElcsOE

>because of this retarded ass early annecy out of order leak websites don't know how to list the actual officially listed Episode 1s and instead call them Season 2 Episode 1 despite literally being Season 1 Episode 1a and 1b

Has Emily gotten naked yet? That's all I care about.

Yes in the very basic and bland way most adult cartoons do, where they're naked but under covers and almost entirely obscured to where you see more of their body in sexy clothing than you do when they're naked. Meanwhile we have footage in the promo of all the guys running naked pinning other men down on the ground. I didn't want this to be more of the same but I guess it's just going to be that kind of annoying shit.

cry moar, coomer

I hate double standards, I don't even jerk off to western cartoon designs anymore. The last one I remember doing that to was Nancy from KoTH when I was like 14.

So is the show actually good?

Eh, it's not as bad as you'd expect from the 3 episodes out so far when you hear that it's an animated adult show about modern Californians but it isn't really that great. Plus it seems 22 minute scripts for Season 1 were butchered during production and they all became 11 minutes with no time for full rewrites so the pacing is off and there's a couple things you can notice that don't have any explanation. Some of these are
>Candace (the baby) wears a trashbag when they go to the store in No Stress Day
This could be explained in a different episode like maybe it's something they do regularly and not just for that episode, but I doubt it.
>Alex (the black professor guy) is randomly shown standing on his mattress in one shot, looking like he might have took a selfie with a poster behind him
>Randy (the guy that looks like the son of the death kwon do guy in RS) is randomly injured and in casts at the end of Episode 1b
The pacing is also noticeable, as everyone has made apparent in the earliest threads with episodes out.

I really only like Josh so far. Granted we really haven't seen much of anyone else so far because aside from the wife Emily, the others are secondary roles in what is presumably cut down from 22 minutes. Alex was only with Josh in the no stress day episode and he didn't do much except reference a perverted gang of clowns he made a bet with. He seems alright. Bridgette seems like she's going to be annoying to me and Emily is probably going to have uptight "slightly better than her husband at worst" moments. I'll for sure give this whole season a shot but it hasn't hooked me and I worry about what could have happened in production and how other episodes will be affected.

Holy fuck can this show slow down? It feels like they cut lines from a 22 minute script to fit in 11 minutes.

Uncensored when?

Attached: uncensored.png (1664x929, 2.62M)

CN Studios forces the 11-minute rule unless your name is Genndy.

It seems like HBO just took whatever copies TBS recieved for air rather than going straight to Cartoon Network for the uncensored edits.

Probably never. The censoring is part of the comedy.

A review came out yesterday or this morning or something I already forgot what the date of it was but it mentions that the no stress day episode is what they saw, and they were vaguely reviewing episodes 1-8, so it's a season 1 episode. That being said it makes me wonder why there's the episodes put up early on Max with overlay credits and the Annecy one had full isolated credits with an extended version of the theme song and which one we're supposed to be getting with the official release tomorrow. Also tomorrow, JG is doing an AMA on r/television on Reddit 11 am PT/2 pm EST. It should be a better focus than the bizarre call of duty lets play thing was.

HBO Max already has a black version of this show coming out soon.
>Young Love, as the HBO Max series will be called, expands on the family introduced in Hair Love as it offers “an honest look into the world of the Young family – including millennial parents Stephen and Angela, their daughter Zuri and her pet cat Rocky – as they juggle their careers, marriage, parenthood, social issues, and multi-generational dynamics, all while striving to make a better life for themselves.”
Really hits the same beats as the initial announcement of Close Enough, but without any cartoon antics.
>“I am beyond excited to continue telling the story of Stephen, Angela and Zuri and further explore the family dynamics of a young Black millennial family,” Cherry said in a statement. “Couldn’t ask for better partners in Sony Pictures Animation and HBO Max in helping us get Young Love out to the world.”

ba da ba badahp
my name is Cleveland Brown and I am proud to be right here in my home town, braiding my girl's hair.
there's black friends and black friends and even a cat

Young Love doesn't seem like it's going to be an adult comedy though, more like a series of all-ages "very special episodes"
The short it's based on is kid-appropriate

Christ her parents really need to trim those bushes

I want to know what happened during the cut content that led candace to making the picture about her and her parents all naked. This is of real concern. Does social services need to get involved?

calm down already guys it's only a cartoon after all..
