There needs to be more Warhammer 40k Zig Forums properties.
There needs to be more Warhammer 40k Zig Forums properties
This actual franchise is too high T for Zig Forums they rather jack off to the cringe emperor text to speech.
>a space marine headbutting an eldar
The eldar's head would crack like an egg on the 2nd or 3rd headbutt. Brain-matter everywhere
>Warhammer
I’d rather stick with star trek you can enjoy your warhammer shit with you star wars comics under marvel, KeK
Been playing since 2003.
Very few people in the hobby I'd describe as "high T".
I still cant get over marvel gets 40k comics but they DONT pick the literal Wolverine Marines.
It might be retconned by eldar skeletons are almost like crystals IIRC
We need more stuff like Deff Skwadron.
Notice how the guys face is caved in and the marine hasn't even blinked?
We know dude.
And like a mong I forgot the page.
WH40k's rife with opportunity for small scale, one off stories, you'd think GW would be all over having some successful comic lines to line their pockets.
>Wolverine Marines
>they all say bub all the fucking time
No, there exists an entire chapter of space marines with a bone mutation that causes them to grow outside their skin and become retractable. Its kinda like baraka from MK but then they go full Wolverine and have the marines cover the extended bones in adamantium and strap jet packs to their backs.
>I’d rather stick with star trek
Those 2 universes are almost opposites one is a socialist utopia where most of the enemies are minor threats to civilization while the other is a feudalist dystopia with outdated barely functional machines where every single villain if ignored can destroy the super frail empire economy and stability
40k is so fucking dumb and shameless....its why I fucking love it
Is everything a fucking reference in 40k
No. They would never get right people to do it. Even moreso if people in charge are AMERICANS
Yes.
Oh come now, what's the worst thing that could happen?
The main space marine chapters are basically historic factions
>ultramarines: roman legion
>Space Wolves: viking armies
>Blood Angels: catholic soldiers
>Dark Angels: Knight Order
>Black Templars: Crusaders
>Celestial Lions: a bunch of happy go lucky african tribe warriors
The main premise of Warhammer40k Empire is: every single human civilization that ever existed is part of it
GW is like Blizzard in that they take other peoples ideas, put their brand of paint on it, and market the everloving out of them as their own awesome original idea.
I WANNA SEE THE MEN OF IRON IN ACTION, EMPERORDAMNIT
>they take other peoples ideas, put their brand of paint on it, and market the everloving out of them as their own awesome original idea.
So just like Marvel and Star Wars
The SW are still the obvious case of imitating Wolverine, between the hair being a mainstay in frames for the last three iterations and the slew of double lightning claw models.
>>Black Templars: Crusaders
And aslo nazi.
Not really?
Apart from being facists and xenophobes like every human faction, there isn't really anything about them linking them to nazis.
Not really.
Including references is different from just stealing stuff wholesale and making it just different enough to be legally distinct.
that's a bit of a stretch
.... or they could be emulating wild animals, wild animals that use their claws in combat.
Foh, no one wants comics/cartoons of your gay little plastic army men
We need more iron hands love
GW put out a great anthology book, Warhammer Monthly, back in the late 90s. Had a ton of talent in it too. Dunno why they can't just do that again.
Cross
well it's a little different since it started as a roleplaying game. I imagine it went more like
>"Hey we made the generic space troopers and space [fantasy races], but wouldn't it be fun if they fought The Predator?"
>"Oh yeah that does sound fun, lemme write some rules"
>"oh wait we can't actually use the predator, wanna just change some things around? We could add him in the space elf faction."
>"Sure, sounds really fun!"
>"Hey guys I overheard you talking about the predator (but as a space elf), and well I got carried away, and sculpted a bunch of minis in different poses of that concept."
>"Oh hey fellas I decided to write some lore based off the space elf predator, I gave them their own names and justifications, and made them an entire unit."
>"Hey we're getting more money, let's stream-line some of these concepts and minis down."
Repeat this for 33 years in a row.
Not really.
SW got the facial hair, animal ferocity, bestial senses etc. Wolverine isn't the sole inspiration obviously, but it's been a pretty clear reference nonetheless, down to the chaptermaster being called Logan.
Black Dragons got spikes (not retractable by the way) and horns.
that's the Red Scorpions
You mean the Crusader Cross?
Not even the Iron Cross, specifically the Cross of the Teutonic Order.
