Fixing Miles Origin in 616

Miles is in a weird place as far as his origin is concerned. His universe-hop has been problematic from the start.

I feel like the only real solution is to have a flashback origin where 616 peter dies and miles takes over, and then through comic shenanigans 616 peter returns.

It's been settled that he has vague memories of the Ultimate universe but other than that his whole history and his family and Ganke were merged into 616. It's something that doesn't need any more exploring and with Bendis gone there won't be anymore problems with it.

Yeah but OP brings up a decent point; its still muddled and a forced excuse to make him 616. You can't really just ignore the "Yeah Molecule Man saved him and shut up ignore the details".

Just do what Spiderverse did in regards to Miles personality and Uncle Aaron being a good uncle to Miles despite being a criminal.

You know, Dan Didio is at loose ends. I bet if Marvel brought him in he'd make some changes and there would no longer be a problem with Miles Morales.

They had their chance to do that YEARS ago by connecting miles origin to the other but they specifically decided to set miles origin to secret invasion for some reason.

Miles isn’t there to be a character user just a point of contention.

That is so, so much more confusing. It feels like a retcon that would've been made in the 90's. For Miles to work, 616 Peter needs to have died and come back somehow OR they just let Miles be from another universe without the weird "except when he isnt" bit.

Might as well ask what happened to Superior Tony and the dozens of other changes that happened when Secret Wars ended. The multiverse got unmade and then remade. And that's not even talking about Ewing and Bendis's takes on the Ultimate universe returning. Just let it go.

He's Token: The Character, wasting time on clearing up technical details about a character whose content doesn't matter and never will is pointless, he's black Spider-Man and as far as the public is concerned, that's all he needs to be Brave and Important (And That's A Good Thing!)

yikes

You don't have to do much. Miles got bit by a spider like Peter and decided he should be Spider-Man. He only went around in Peter's costume because he was dead. So if Peter never died then you can skip that awkward phase where people were yelling at him for being disrespectful. It's not like Miles's origin needs to be the exact same for him to be where he is now.

All of those are legitimate questions. Just because Marvel bids us to ignore them doesn't actually mean they aren't worth asking.

Obviously the details can be different but the broad strokes are important. Miles needs to have taken the mantle from a dead Spider-man. It's integral to his origin and diminishing that diminishes him.

Didn’t Pete die when he faught Morlun? You could easily say Miles took over then until he came back.

Worth asking but not worth obsessing over. Especially when the general answer is "a reality bender made it happen."

He does nothing but diminish peter though so why would I care that bendis never bothered to do anything more with his character. The real question is why do YOU hate peter?

double yikes plus cringe

That's not obsessing, that's asking for some damn editorial cleanup. "Don't think about" should be used for questions like magic, or how Spider-Man's powers work, not basic storytelling

Marvel wanted a teenage Spider-Man and now they have one. So Peter can grow up and not be a loser that can't have a stable relationship.

Ultimate Peter was supposed to be that, Miles was made to be the black Spider-Man

He did that fine for 20 years until Queseda shat all over it. And people were fine with ultimate peter until bendis killed him off like a bitch to replace him within a day then he just brought him back to tell miles he’s better. Does miles have a purpose outside of being black spiderman? Does he have one unique story? One good story?

It's not about basic storytelling, it's literally warping reality. Molecule Man used his power to make it happen just like how it would happen if someone used magic. It's not that hard to understand. You just want to see the exact way he did it when it's really not that necessary unless there's a story for it. And when Bendis tried to explore it he made it worse. Just let it go, you're not going to get all the answers and that has always been a thing in comics.

>here's your origin and motivation bro
kek what a fucking joke of a character, they aren't even trying to hide how much of a lazy zero effort recolor he is

Motherfucker convoluted origin stories like this NEVER work. Donna Troy, Power Girl, Miles, even Ghost Spider, all terrible starts that beg the reader not to think about it but ultimately bites the story in the ass sooner or later. Fuck you for telling the audience to not ask questions, because good storytelling encourages it

Fixing Miles’ Origin in 616

>Miles always loved spiderman, especially his giant bulge
>Miles would masturbate to him daily and wish for him to cum inside him
>one day he gets his powers
>peter parker trains him
>Miles rapes him with viagra and makes peter cum inside him.
>Miles get pregeginatnt with a baby boy named timmy turner
>Timmy was an average kid and noone understand
>mom and dad and Vicky always giving him commands
>The doom and gloom up in his room is broken instantly
>By his magic little fish who grant his every wish
>’Cause in reality they are his ODD PARENTS. FAIRLY ODDPARENTS

It's almost like it was written by a hack that's no longer at the company and his character was repurposed and given to better writers.

Bendis still gets money from his use and his middling quality current run still has yet to have more than a decent story. Though none of them have been truly unique

You just listed a bunch of characters who got worse because people kept picking at their origin stories.

Attached: well played.gif (490x480, 1.22M)

No they got worse people no one could agree on what the origin should be

>better writers
>his one purpose of existence is still to be a black Spider-Man, but you should judge him on his merit on not skin color, but he has no fucking merit to speak of, but Spider-Man is black now and that's important, but he's more than just black Spider-Man, but he's literally and figuratively only Spider-Man but black in every way, but he doesn't like being the black Spider-Man, but he won't let go off the name even if his life depended on it, but..
Trainwreck of a character

Secret War was a mistake

Look, we don't need more stuff to try and "fix" this/
This isn't DC and he certainly isn't Dona Troy. Just let it be.

>and his character was repurposed
When, exactly?
Bendis kept writing him in 616 and the first ongoing without him at the helm is just two years old, not to mention that despite making some adjustments to his powers and family he's still the exact same character
