"Disney's worst trait is his bland and stagey 'acting.' It is completely generic—nothing subtle or specific in the least. I'm dumbfounded that you could even make such a statement.

'Acting' is what Robert Ryan, Kirk Douglas, Jackie Gleason, Carroll O'Connor, Joan Crawford, Peter Lorre, and their ilk do. It's not what Grumpy or Stromboli do. That stuff is ridiculously generic and simple. Solidly drawn—but that's a different thing. Bugs Bunny's acting at the beginning of Falling Hare—now that's subtle, human, and also solidly drawn—by one of the best animators of all time—Bob McKimson.

Disney's acting is never remotely human. Disney animators use the most broad symbols of emotions, the symbol of happy, the symbol of sad, but never ever the specific sadness of a certain one-of-a-kind charcter in a once-in-a-lifetime experience. And this is something that you can't argue."

Is he wrong?

How pathetic

He's still right though.

>nothing subtle
-Master of Subtlety John fucking K

If John is so smart, why didn't he go teach at Sheridan?

being contrarian and doing the opposite of what disney does doesn't make your cartoon good, john.

It's the kind of broad statement that falls apart when you get into particulars.
Simba's anguish when he finds out his dad died, for example, is absolutely distinct from Belle's dismay that her father is being victimized. And so on.

If he so desired, could Johj still get a book published? I love hearing his thoughts even if i dont agree with them at all. He is entrtaining guy.

I agree with you but it does seem he was talking shorts and tv by mentioning bugs.

When Mickey and Donald get mad they do so in ways that are very specific to them. Can you show me multiple instaces showing otherwise?

Fuck off faggot I said I agree. I know you're useless up early and looking for an argument because you're jobless but just hang yourself and stream it.

American animation as we know it wouldn’t have become a popularized thing without Disney. Even animators from studios like Warner Bros heavily looked up to them as an inspiration for the medium.

John K is famous for being contrarian and never giving anything a solid chance. Basically the worst of Zig Forums morphed into a human being.

Plus Disney was always aimed at a family audience as opposed to something like Looney Tunes which was more violent in comparison. So no shit they would be more friendly and kind hearted. I don’t think John seems to realize that though.

>Plus Disney was always aimed at a family audience as opposed to something like Looney Tunes which was more violent in comparison
Walt always said he didn't make cartoons for children and only an idiot would do that anyway. For that reason, he never screened anything with children present.

He's not wrong, he's just an asshole.

Bob McKimson also always managed to meet deadlines and didn't spend most of that time berating co-workers or molesting 13 year old girls.

Modern Disney really is just kiddie stuff though, they could never make Fantasia today. It's impossible not in the least because it would be way too expensive.

>I agree
>but
I was addressing your "but", but go ahead. Be mad.

Most animation today is kiddie shit, blame boomers into convincing market shares that cartoons are just for children and not for family in general. Hopefully that changes by the time that generation croaks.

A multi billion dollar company trying to be marketable isnt anything new to point out and I cant think of a more broad and pointless statement to make
Also john if youre reading this

You cant hold on to the resenment for your father forever

>This broad media meant for wide appeal uses broad strokes and simple stage-play emotions
Yeah, that's why it's fucking successful you goon. That's the point.

Kricfalusi is a hack and the only projects he ever worked on that did well we're almost entirely out if his hands.

lyl my manly man abuser 50s dad is such a hilarious person that he deserves his own cartoon XD

Walt was also a very small part of what Disney is and was. Ask Eisner.

>but never ever the specific sadness of a certain one-of-a-kind charcter in a once-in-a-lifetime experience. And this is something that you can't argue. Also 15 year old pussy is the BEST pussy"

FTFY

As if. The guy was a soft dictator who commanded and animators animated. Also...

>caring what Mike Eisner thinks

Irrelevant one-trick pony kiddy diddler who should Epstein themselves already.

>Modern Disney really is just kiddie stuff though
That's most of Disney's ouevre throughout the years.
>they could never make Fantasia today. It's impossible not in the least because it would be way too expensive.
Fantasia 2000 budget: $80-85 million
Frozen II budget: $150 million

This better be Vore

I don't trust kiddy diddlers, especially when they're involved in stuff like cartoons. And doubly so when he always talks about how cartoons should be fun and whacky and childish.

Almost anything looks generic compared to the spasming balloon people he's been putting out lately, so I'm not sure I can trust his judgement here.

it is

If John is so smart, why did he get caught?
