This. It sounds like a GREAT concept for a NEW hero. Why do they think everything must be re imaginings of existing heroes instead of making something NEW? Instead of making new things, they just see to raping the established characters that were popular FOR A REASON?

Right now, the mindset between these two posts seem to suggests exposure to two different types of creative hacks.

The one that thinks "NEW IS BEST" and want to make their mark on everything at the expense of others.

These two types of creatives make up the MAJORITY of media makers in today's age. And that's what's making current media worse everyday.

Because taking something from you is as much the point as having their representation is. Maybe more so. Why do you think they put so much effort into forcing the narrative that being white, or male, or straight is never important to a character's identity and personality, the way it absolutely is to all other characters?

There's a good chance they don't have the capability. The best cartoon in the past five years was a right-wing paradise about a literal caveman and a hot single mom supporting each other (equally, not giving handouts to each-other) while murdering the fuck out of 99% of the other sapient creatures they come across. Literally everyone thinks it's good.
And on the other side, literally everything else, with no staying power, little talent, and no real soul. Something is wrong and I'm far past giving a fuck about fixing it. Good stuff is good. Bad stuff is obvious. That's easy enough.

It sounds conspiratorial and petty that they'd do all this because they hate the average American. It's not so much individuals as it is groups of people with a near-hivemind ideology. They have all the based covered in terms of influence, and they have a tremendous chip on their shoulder for whatever reason.
