Everything about the Mandalorians in TCW came from Lucas along with all the other heavy lore stuff. Yes. Moreso for some episodes/arcs than others I'm sure, but he had input. And for all people's criticisms of Filoni and co., I'm pretty sure they kept his whacky ideas in check just as much as he did theirs.

Agreed. Star Wars was already going downhill when Disney bought it because Fagloni's garbage being forced down the continuity's throat. A man who has the intellectual capacity of a Tusken Raider was put in charge of bridging the gap between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith (arguably the two most important films in terms of Star Wars continuity because they set the stage for the original trilogy) and naturally, it's a fucking dumpster fire.

TCW doesn't fit in the EU ("Legends") because it was never intended to line up with the EU's prequel era content. The only thing it considered, per Lucas, was the movies, because that's all Lucas ever gave a fuck about. It's still clumsy on that front, but so are the prequels with respect to the OT and even the EU with respect to various aspects of itself. I can understand disliking TCW because of this, but that was never a game Lucas was playing. I'm sure Lucas's Underworld show would have contradicted swathes of the EU too.

TCW was the purest Lucas Star Wars outside of the Prequels. He was in total control, if he wanted something to happen there it happened. Only occasionally did Filoni manage to convince him something was a bad idea, like Lucas originally wanted Ahsoka to be 10 but they had long discussions about inappropriate it might be to have a child that young in a war setting, and Lucas finally relented.
He sure did want 10-year Ahsoka to wear the tube top outfit too.
