Sam and Max & Bone Thread

Anyone of a fan of either of these two nowadays? To me it feels like they're been forgotton about now (though Bone is getting a Netflix series soon so that might change).

Those oddly do kind of fit together...i want to suggest something else but i am afraid to ruin the aesthetic...

Curious to hear what you wanna suggest though, mind if you share?

Based on those idk man, Usagi Yokimbo maybe?

Weirdly just finished a big Sam & Max kick about a week ago, read the comic collection and played through the games again. I know Purcell is working at Pixar now, but I think they deserve another shot at the limelight.

It does fit the aesthetic somewhat, but kinda ruins it since unlike the two in the OP, it didn't get a Telltale game.

Damn Telltale Usagi Yojimbo would fucking sick

I agree

He pitched a short to Pixar, but it didn't go anywhere. Pixar were also considering a Grim Fandango adaptation for a while, since they bought Lucasarts, but ended up redeveloping the concept into Coco.

>(though Bone is getting a Netflix series soon so that might change).

Wait what's this now? Also Jesus Christ no.

The idea of a Grim Fandango movie makes my mouth water, but maybe a four part miniseries on Disney+ would be better.

>get to choose between Chizu or Tomoe

I'm a fan of Sam and Max but I've never read Bone

I loved Bone even before I got deep into comics, awesome world and characters, I wanna read Sam and Max though

I loved bone as a kid but if you ask me to recall a single thing about it I could not even if I had a gun to my head
I wonder why that is
should I re read bone? I always see it in thrift shops

Bone is really fun but actually kinda runs into a rut where it's long enough that quite a bit doesn't really stay with you and egg on discussion after the fact but it's not so long that the continuity has stuff that sticks with people through sheer variety like mainstream cape

Also it might just not have been read by that many people here

Do it

Where can a poorfag read Sam and Max comics until the freelance police kick my door down?

Search Sam & Max.

Huge fan of Sam and Max. My go to franchise for any visual medium because I know whatever I read/watch/play it's going to be a good time. Currently playing through the Tell Tale games. It's crazy to me how they threw the franchise away for The Walking Dead.
Always planned on reading Bone, but haven't yet. I started years ago at my cousins house and never pursued it afterwards.

It will be in 2D.

>should I re read bone?

hell yes.

Right here!

Netflix at it's core is concerning.

Bump before bed.

>netflix is what I'm worried about
What are you even worried about? That they'll turn thorn black or something
I don't think anyone is all that suited to adapting the story. It's long and while not super complicated, there's plenty of character and plot lines to keep track of

i love sam and max. i only discovered it 3 weeks ago but it's already one of the comfiest works of fiction for me

Sam and max is the one franchise that I think could work getting turned into a live action buddy cop film, unlike something like sonic.

I just want to see a Sam & Max animated movie in my lifetime. I think as time goes on Sam & Max's style of black comedy is going to grow less and less popular, there's something that feels distinctly old-fashioned about it.

I just wish the style of irreverent humor didn't become so played out by people who only understand the LOL SO WACKY parts.

I discovered them recently as well, fell in love with the comics and then show/games, there really isn't anything like them

I was big into Sam & Max back in the day thanks to playing the Telltale games. I got Surfin' The Highway, played the original LucasArts adventure game and watched the cartoon. Couldn't get enough of these psychopaths.

I wonder if Purcell will ever write another full comic again - I really do love his artwork and writing the most out of anything S&M related
