>"THOR was not my finest moment, it has to be said. I did it for the money. The first couple of days it was about seven hours, eight hours in the makeup chair. I think we got it down to six and a half. It's a day's work before anything. Marvel were dishonest to me, they never, ever let me know that there'd be that amount of makeup. So yeah, that was not my finest moment."
ACTORS WHO HATE THEIR COMIC BOOK ROLES
That movie wasn't anyone's finest moment.
Reminder that Feige cut almost all of his scenes to give more bait to the fujoshits
There’s Terrence Howard and Edward Norton, too. Seems this is a common occurrence in the MCU. I guess Jennifer Lawrence in the Fox-men movies as well.
While the movie was shit, I get the feeling Eccleston is full of himself and overestimates his importance as an actor. I mean Tennant also did theater, but he was at least happy for most of his roles, especially Dr. Who (which Eccleston refused to return for the 50th special I might add). You kind of lose your boasting when you say yes to GI Joe to play Destro.
I forget what Howard's beef was. Norton was upset about the rewrites and the movie he was misled on. JLaw? She's just a cunt all around who got high off her Hunger Games success and kept bitching for more of a presence in the X-Men plots. Also I'd like to remind people Ron Pearlman spent hours in a makeup chair just to meet a kid. So they can cry me a fucking river about makeup prep
Didn't this nigga only get the role after negotiations with Mads Mikkelsen fell through? Also Thor related: Idris Elba lambasted the movies, but after he got killed off, started campaigning to come back.
Ed Norton is a known prima donna, JLaw basically felt that X-Men was beneath her after she got some critical acclaim.
>Idris Elba lambasted the movies, but after he got killed off, started campaigning to come back.
Funny because I think that's exactly what happened with Natalie Portman.
I'd be pissed off too if I was an actor playing a villain and my character was reduced to a flat generic non-character because otherwise the movie would be too morally ambiguous.
>"I'm actually falling down from a spaceship, so they had to put me in harness in this green-screen studio. And in between takes I was stuck there, fake hair stuck on to my head with glue, this fucking helmet, while they reset. And I’m thinking: '24 hours ago, I was Nelson Mandela.' Then there I was, in this stupid harness, with this wig and this sword and these contact lenses. It ripped my heart out. I was like, ‘This is torture, man. I don’t want to do this.’ My agent said: ‘You have to, it’s part of the deal.'"
Eccleston is an absolute twat. Not just Tennant, compare him to Smith as well, or Capaldi. These guys are all pretty low-key and self-effacing. Most of the actors who have played the Doctor over the years have the classic English actor spirit, the whole "This is a job and I'm going to do the best I can for the paycheck" thing. Eccleston seems almost uniquely self-important in this regard, at least among modern actors who have portrayed the role.
Hope he stays dead. Don't want this to be like the comics where they will just resurrect someone willy-nilly.
Too bad Tennant and Smith are horrible actors.
Eccleston has claimed that he wasn't invited back to the 50th by the BBC. This might not be true, or it might be because he was a nightmare to work with, but I don't think it's a case of him straight thinking he was too good for the role.
>Seems this is a common occurrence in the MCU
Can't blame them
Actually Tennant is an exceptional actor
Maybe you should've stayed on DW for more than one season. Eccleston is such a whiny bitch
The frustration of makeup or doing the harness work I can understand. That resonates with me more than this idea that they were just doing an important role or something.
Didn't he say he got a look at the 50th script (with him in it) and say he didn't want to take part.
Lol, sure thing David. Whatever you say.
>He only knows him from Dr. Who
No, retard. I've seen more than enough of his "acting" to know that he's terrible. All he can do is overact and make dumb faces.
Bad Samaritan in particular was fucking awful.
Do you blame him? Thor 2 was so shit and he was the most forgettable part of it. Which when you think about it may be a blessing
>I forget what Howard's beef was.
Money. He was actually paid more than RDJ in Iron Man and they wanted to cut his pay for the sequel.
>and they wanted to cut his pay for the sequel.
Watch Zig Forums be on Marvel's side
Does he count?
>common occurrence
>only three examples out of a multitude of reoccurring characters
I see you discord tranny. Just trying to fan the flames so you get (you)s from DCucks. Pathetic.
>Not liking Tennant as Killgrave
Even if you didn't like the JJ show overall he was the stand out
Your taste is bad.
If he really didn't get invited back it's because he talks sit on playing the doctor everytime he's asked about it and probably alienated the Who people in BBC for good
JJ was irredeemable shit and he was the worst part of it.
Just his typical annoying overacting that removes what little menace the utterly shitty character that is Kilgrave has.
>Your taste is bad
I'm not the one liking shitty actors.
and considering how it its right now, is a good thing
And then the Doctor Who people alienated their fans by going full sjw.
based perlman
Doctor Who was always SJW crap.
