How would the lovecraft verse fare in DC/marvel?
How would the lovecraft verse fare in DC/marvel?
No
*azathoth wakes up*
>the blind idiot god
Fuck dude that's kind of rude
A no win scenario where you are fighting a futile battle against an enemy that cannot be defeated?
M'gann would probably mind rape her teammates again.
Lovecraft is a meme
Horrerfags are obnoxious i bet dr Manhattan can solo all of lovecraft at once
Nigga this is why you can't have these threads. Powerlevelfagging is cancer of the highest order, yet this takes it to an ADDITIONAL level by trying to vs with a property that's specifically about quantifiable abilities not being the fucking point
Seething
Yog-Sothoth and Eternity are pretty much equivalent. Yes or no?
Yes
Correct me if I'm wrong but Azathoth is literally all of reality. The universe as we know it exists as Azathoth's dream, and if he ever woke up... that's it.
So I'm assuming neither DC or Marvel could do much unless they somehow killed Azathoth before he woke up... but wouldn't killing him end his dream? Damned if you do...
DC already has a ton of Lovecraftian shit in it.
Defeated by some collective asspull
The power levels of Mythos monsters were not explored very much in Lovecraft's stories. We have no idea how powerful they actually are.
>How would the lovecraft verse fare in DC/marvel?.
DC already has Johnny Sorrow.
For starters there is no "Lovecraft verse." There is only a scant bit of continuity in Lovecraft's writings between a handful of stories. It has a bunch of common references, but it also has a bunch of contradictions because Lovecraft wasn't actually writing a cohesive setting. Secondly, DC/Marvel are already squarely in cosmic horror with several of Lovecraft's common references already existing within it. Ultimately they don't mesh as not only are the Big 2 incredibly humanistic, they're also incredibly meta.
Yog-Sothoth is also literally all of reality. It's really not something that lines up neatly.
Wasn't the cancerverse off brand Lovecraft?
Just to remind you Biblical god in Marvel is Cthulhu incarnated when god's name was uttered with hatred
Yes, seriously
dr manhattan is a great character cause hes superman turned to 11 with real world consequences, hes kinda a lovecraftian tale all his own
they already have lovecraftian creatures in both universe
Dc/marvel already has a bunch of lovecraft shit in it.
so they deal with it pretty well.
Unless other stories imply otherwise (which they very well might ofc) they're nested. Yog-Sothoth is the gate, he exists outside our time and space and is aware of all of it. Azathoth is the dreamer that dreams it all, including Yog-Sothoth and our reality.
>Lovecraftverse
You're now in the power of Stardust
Dr. Manhattan is literally a figment of Azothoth's imagination. If he wakes up Dr. M ceases to exist.
...
It's not a question of how well the Lovecraft Mythos fares in DC/Marvel, it's a question of how well DC/Marvel fare in it.
He makes Azathoth his bitch then makes some reveal about how Perpetua was the one who made him or some bullshit.
>Dr. Manhattan is literally a figment of Azothoth's imagination
>Azathoth
Pathetic.
