>Character gets mind controlled and attacks his allies
>LISTEN, I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE SOMEWHERE
Character gets mind controlled and attacks his allies
Fight it, OP! This isn't you!
Has there ever been a situation where the asshole friend is mind-controlled, and when his allies fight back they take it as an opportunity to vent on him with a good excuse?
>character is forced to hurt his friends
>believe me , it's going to hurt me even more than you
>comic relief becomes evil
>ends up being an effective villain
>Character gets mind controlled and attacks his allies
>"He's one of them now. It's too late. There's nothing we can do"
>Attempts to get through to him turn out to be futile
>He's actually ego dead and they're forced to kill or permanently incapacitate him
The JSA vs Black Adam usually goes like this
>everyone thinks the character is brainwashed
>he isn't
I was waiting for someone to post this.
Examples?
i love that so much
That’s pretty great.
Warp Darkmatter from the Buzz Lightyear cartoon. At one point Buzz is convinced Warp was mind controlled, and it turns out he’s just a dick.
I loved how this was used in an anime called Saiunkoku Monogatari, a female character gets brainwashed and a guy in love with her tries this and "the power of love" but it doesn't work so he gives up and just bitch slaps her
Not Zig Forums, but Power Rangers has pretty much every trope known to man somewhere, especially the early seasons.
Zeo, where Tommy fights Gasket’s mind control.
Rito gets to be emperor for a day because Zedd thinks it’ll be funny, and Rito ends up almost winning.
Rhinox in Beast Machines.
That one doesn’t exist.
Zedd is given a love potion to fall in love with Rita. Goldar ends up finding an antidote to save Lord Zedd, but it turns out he’s actually in love with Rita and nothing changes.
Man that buzz lightyear movie was way better than it had any right to be. Watched it last year and was legitimately surprised it did not suck
Has there ever been an instance of a villain who's simply extremely good at manipulating people but has no superpowers otherwise mind-raping the fuck out of an actual mind controller?
>Character gets mind controlled
>Male character is fighting a flirty/seductive/coy femme fetale villain
>gets restrained or is physically incapacitated and cannot move his body
>the guy's female love interest and co. barge in to save him.
>at some point during the fight the femme fetale taunts the female love interest by kissing the restrained male who is either visibly resisting and trying to pull back or clearly under some mind control.
>The girl still get's outraged and pissed off at the male like he enjoyed or wanted it even though all evidence suggests otherwise.
>cue the girl slapping the guy or expecting him to make it up to her in some way.
The show’s like that too.
We're not talking about your weebshit here, user.
>Character is mindcontrolled
>Protagonist doesn't know this
>kills character thinking he's evil
>complaining about what people complain about in a complain thread.
Heh, that actually made my morning.
I still can't believe how often
>it's not that you did thing, it's that you lied to me about it
is said. Family Guy does it a lot and there was even an episode where they used it for a joke ending to one of their plots, so they clearly know it's oversaturated.
A general version of this I was just thinking about a couple days ago is when a guy falls onto a girl because he's pushed or tripped and he gets hit for it because muh pervy men joke even if it's blatantly obvious they had no control of it. This only works if it's the kind of character to literally pounce on the girl but that's only in anime, you're not going to get a protagonist in american cartoons where the guy does something so villain-esque to cartoonily go after a girl to touch them. It'd make the guy unlikeable to the american audience.
>Martial Arts comic/show/cartoon
>Unsuspecting character turns out to be a master in an insanely powerful form of Kung Fu.
>Hero redeems villainess with the power of love
Ultimate Reed Richards. The idea was entertained briefly.
