The shining armor

Are we.....getting an upbeat heroic Batman again? You know, the kind of heroism and optimism you would find in Batman 66/Adam West? For years Bruce has been this broken man, a mysterious isolated masked avenger who was only concerned about striking fear in the hearts of criminals like some boogeyman. But can he be that, AND a upbeat beacon of hope for everyday citizens? Can Batman be both Good Cop and Bad Cop?

Naturally this is all just pure speculation, but given this variant cover I'm starting to wonder if there's some truth behind it given the presentation. Would you want another optimistic Batman again instead of the usual brooding stick in the mud?

Yes. It's a nice change of pace.

You don't need to go 66. BTAS was plenty optimistic and kind, with hope even for his villains.

I'm curious how his family would react to this new Bruce. I know for a fact this is going to scare the pants off his villains given how out of the norm it is.
BTAS Batman however regressed into a brooding asshole though, and hardly cared about what the public thought of him so long as he could continue being Batman. The Adam West comparison is brought up because that version, like Superman, was applauded to be seen in public

This picture makes me want to see more alternate reality Batmen, DC used to explore this concept all the time before Marvel started to do it as well with Spider-verse. And I mean GOOD alternate Batmen not Owlman, Vampire Batman and Who Laughs

This is the 90est costume I've seen in a long time. It's actually official? Because it looks like ass.
I'm not opposed to a less grim Batman but holy shit I'd never buy a book with this design.

It could be the art style because the blue is a bit muddy, but I'm curious why you hate it. The vibe I got was "let's play up the "Knight" angle".

It's definitely less "Dark Knight" and more "Knight in shining armor"

>Batman: Knight in Shining Armor
Sounds cool to be honest

I don't need him to be Adam West. But I definitely need a brighter Batman at this point.

Yes, of course, I'm talking about early DCAU Batman, by the end he was a problem

This, I miss when Batman wasn’t grimdark all of them time and sometimes could crack a joke or at least acknowledge the absurdity of his life. Kind of in line with the first few seasons of BTAS or some of the 70s stuff.

Looks like he's going Superior Iron Man to me.

It doesn't look like a knight armor in anything other than the fact that the texture seems metallic. It actually looks more like an Iron Man armor, which also rubs me off the wrong way.

The whole arc was basically Marvel saying "Yeah he's totally Lex Luthor"

It doesn't like an Iron Man armor at all, it'd have to be chunkier and more segmented for that.

And also more obviously technological.

I'm all for light hearted and hopeful Batman, but that costume has to go.

Uhhh...

I stand by what I said, it doesn't look like an Iron Man armor.

Get your eyes checked then.

Not saying this armor is particularly great for some older happy Batman, but at least it's like silver and black instead of that weirdness.

can we also get a dark and brooding Superman as his counterpart?

Glad to see Kenner Batman toyline artists still getting work.

>It's not a bat, in my world it means hope

lolololololol
Ice to meet you, Batman.

Checked, and STILL don't see it.

It's not Iron Man to me because its not encompassing the entire costume. People are calling it "Shining Knight" because its glossy, bright, and bits of metallic

I think you may be retarded. The one on the left is a man completely encased in armor, whereas the one on the right has metallic parts but is mostly compromised of fabric in the torso and thigh regions.

>implying you people won't be complaining again in some years

Jesus Christ. I get it now. This was Batman's suit in 5G. And Superman was gonna lead The Authority. They really would reverse roles.

I loved this batsuit

Well that would naturally happen if he went from inspiring Superman type to just a joking asshole that never takes anything seriously.
