Would you ever dare buy an artbook?

Would you ever dare buy an artbook?

Eh, I mostly get mine off Sadpanda these days.
Most artbooks have very little actual concept art in them, which is the main draw for me.

I've been contemplating it recently actually. There are a few I have in mind; Alex Ross, Bruce Timm, Amanda Connor, etc. But what's kind of dragging my feet is the idea that its just going to be sitting on my bookshelf, not being admired. If I like art, I want to hang it up, you know?

Yes, based crossposter

Nice selction.
The SU books any good?

yes, because studying the approach to design makes it easier for me to further my own illustration abilities.

I like the ones with concept art and design breakdowns

Art and Origins is 10/10 and a major recomendation to anybody I interested in the modern cartoon industry. It goes really far in depth with pitching a pilot, design theory, on top of just being full of great art.

The movie art book is meh. Its cool if you are a fan but pretty much just a collection of production sketches

I bought a couple of the Magic the Gathering ones. The art is great but I'm disappointed that the text content is all in-universe lore for autists instead of insights into the visual conception of their worlds.

That's a shelf full of good taste user

Might keep an eye out for the first one then. Thx.

There are a few right? Any you recommend for someone who doesn't give a fuck about Magic but always really liked the fantastical art?

They are great

Unrelated, but I'm glad they actually gave Mei huge tits.

I like the idea of them bit whenever I see them posted on people's shelves here it's just full of obnoxious weebshit.

The Venture Bros artbook is legit as fuck.

I bought ATLA's

any Zig Forums related art books you recommend? I only own
>Titanfall 2
>Valve
>Megaman BN/SF
>Spider-Verse
>Steven Universe
>Onward

I have a Pacific Rim art book, Evangelion's, and the first Star Wars The Clone Wars one. I also have one from Sylvia Ji.

I have to really, REALLY like the art style of something to get an art book, so I hope more cool shit comes out and I get more art books.

That right page looks like she has her tits out

I have a few, mostly pin up type art books. But I also have an artbook for Transformers Prime and some Star Wars stuff.

The three Alex Ross ones are good. The McFarlane one too, assuming you like his style, is very comprehensive. The Aardman Animation one is pretty bangin'.

There's plenty of great Zig Forums and Zig Forums ones, but obviously that kind of hinges on what you like in general.

Ive been wanting the Invader Zim one that recently got released
Right now all I own is Splatoon, Steven Universe, The Last of Us and the mini TLoU 2 one that came with the deluxe edition
I also have The Book of Mormon, if that counts since it has the whole show script plus behind the scenes

You will be getting it when Dark Horse bring it over next year, right?

No. I download them of Baidu instead.

I own the Cuphead and DnD art books. Still waiting for the Courage the Cowardly Dog one.

I have a couple. There are also a few I'd like to buy, but I'm a frugal son of a bitch so I just... don't.

Art and Arcana? That one is great!

Boooooriiiing

>the mini TLoU 2 one that came with the deluxe edition

I'm sorry user

>DnD
Shame I never found scans of Art of Dragon Magazine. That looked pretty badass.
