Do any cartoons actually improve in style over time?

Honestly Spongebob's style has stayed pretty consistent, most of the change is in the animation

The standard artstyle of Rick and Morty is and always has been kind of ugly, but the creature designs, environments, and technology has gotten cooler looking as the seasons have gone on.

Oggy & the Cock Roaches improved consistently until recently

excellent

ok boomer

99 Sandy looks like a crazed stalker.

Clone Wars went through multiple tiers of graphical and art style improvement over the years. Season 7 made the Clones look so good, especially with their faces.

not if they want to remain consistent. cartoons aren't web comics made by one guy evolving their style. if cartoons want to change their style its usually met by backlash anyway.

If only the writing was on par...

the colour really improved but I thought a lot of the softer edges were really contrary to the usually much darker tone of the world, which helped as a contrast to the comedy.

There was something I did not like about season 4 and up, and I didn't know why, but now I know. It's the way the cheeks are drawn.

vs s07

To be fair, that's a bad example because I'm almost certain those episodes were made with a movie budget.
But looking at the season 6 trailer youtube.com/watch?v=Hpd501LM6T8
You can tell there was improvement.

I disagree I feel like it lost a really cool art style and got kinda generic Sci fi future animated TV show

I personally feel Chowder's designs got better.

What else does Mung Dal's VA do? I've only ever heard him in Skyrim.

Dr. Animo from Ben 10.

Avatar the Last Airbender
The Boondocks
Bee and Puppycat

The common thread is that the foreign animation studios were given creative control to change storyboards or redo them from scratch.

What made spongebob great was the muted colors and modest animation. Not this blindingly bright neon vomit and surrealist animation style. So no, it hasn't really stayed the same. Maybe the general formula of the show and narratives have, but even the voice actors don't sound the same anymore.

>Avatar the Last Airbender
You can really see the transformation in season 2 of it becoming more of an anime visually in terms of how the characters are drawn. It really elevated the humor of the show but I must say it does seem to give it a more "serious" and "big production" feel which kind of changes the tone in contrast to season 1 which felt more laid back

And that everything started becoming more and more gross

Depends on what you like
For the first two seasons they created most monster designs by drawing a literal dick and then adding/removing certain parts until they liked the design. Justin talked about this a few times before
These days they purposefully design each thing to look sci-fi esque which looses a lot of charm in my opinion

He's been in loads of stuff, such as the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ben 10, Harvey Beaks, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Billy & Mandy, Wander Over Yonder, Invader Zim, Family Guy, Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, Afro Samurai, etc.
You mentioned Skyrim, but his videogame checklist is also quite numerous, including the likes of: Arkham Knight, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Spider-Man PS4, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Gears of War 3, Killer7, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, Psychonauts, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy X, Yakuza....
He was also Howling Mad Murdock on the A-Team.

Why did they turn Sandy into a bucket?

>Reason why Jedi do flips and twirls is to get a good sense of their enemy's location when fighting in close range.
I can't believe I just realized this.
