Thoughts? I dig it, he's an underrated actor and could pull it off.
Édgar Ramírez rumored to be eyed for MCU's Wolverine

to tall.
Wolverine needs to be a midget.
Warwick Davis is the tallest actors that could play him.
You're not going to get a borderline midget. Better start coping.
Going to be gay
Oscar. Isaac.
Too old and honestly not tough enough.
Tom Hardy would unironically be the best choice, so just get an actor who looks like him and is the same height or shorter
Also, give him the Frank Quitely hair
>MCU
is that what they're calling the Disney+ original series now
He's not intimidating enough. Just watch Last Days of American Crime.
They should get that guy from LOst. Whatever happened to that guy?
Tom Hardy is 42. Jackman played the role for 17 years until he was 49. In that time the expectations of body image changed so drastically that 2013 Wolverine makes 2000 Wolverine look skinnyfat and 2017 Wolverine just wears a shirt because it's easier than explaining the hernia. With the best will in the world Tom Hardy is not an age-appropriate choice for a role that, if it catches on at all as part of the MCU, is likely to run for 10 years like Iron Man or potentially even longer as the original Wolverine did.
Nobody wants to see 59 year old Tom Hardy strapped into another corset with CGI abs painted on in post.
JAKE
GYLLENHAAL
Need that reynolds bromance on screen.
The answer to literally any of the possible names is "he's in his 50s now, that show was decades ago and he was in his 30s then". Except Dominic Monaghan who's in his 40s, and Terry O'Quinn who's nearly 70.
Those body expectations are ridiculous anyway and hinder so many potentially good roles. They could easily just use costumes to cover up a lack of washboard abs (for a character who is supposed to be a stocky old man in the first place)
This thread is a depressing reminder of how few legit action hero actors there are these days.
We missed out chance in the 80s
The problem with these casting things is that people imagine actors in their prime, aside from nepotism the people at Disney have the time and resources to find the lesser knowns who could work.
But given the current climate where going to get accurate versions of black characters, Chinese for all Asian characters for the Chinese audience and a lot of mystery meat for white characters.
Wolverine is already gay for Cyclop
35 yo or less and midget > Hutcherson, Radcliffe, Efron.
Oh, true, and the MCU has used characters played by actors who absolutely don't have the washboard abs thing going for them. My favorite thing about Ruffalo is he's just this middle-aged scientist-looking guy, which is what he should be, not this haunted-looking gym rat like Norton. Even becoming permanent Professor Hulk is fine because it's CGI. He could play that until he's 90.
Wolverine, however, has expectations attached to it that derive from the previous uses of the character. Departing from audience expectations isn't impossible, but it is tricky to pull off successfully.
Conversely and entirely because people imagine actors in their prime, I wish they'd stop casting the Rock as an action lead. He's 48, let him die already. Arnie's action roles in his late 40s were all garbage, he didn't start being good again until he started playing broken-down versions of himself.
Nicholson went so far downhill physically between 81 and 89 it's unreal. I blame losing the LA Aztecs, it seems to have broken him.
Disney Nu Marvel is not canon
Radcliffe can do that Clint Eastwood voice?
I love Jackman, but his Wolverine was not what you'd call a totally faithful adaptation of the character.
Logan isn't supposed to look like a tall male model, he's supposed to look like a gruff, beat up dude in his mid thirties to early forties, it's why he's so popular with women and gay men, he's almost absurdly masculine.
Also, while i maintain that Hardy would be the best choice, he's obviously not going to do it, given he's tied up with Venom, that's why i said to get someone who generally looks like him, maybe some years younger if it's THAT important.
>Radcliffe can do that Clint Eastwood voice?

>5"10
Disgusting.
Literally no source and OP gets serious replies
The guy is 43, they're not getting a guy this old to play a character who is very physical and has to stay on screen for more than 10 years
If it ain't Jared Keeso, I ain't here for it.
Radcliffe would unironically be a based wolverine
fuck, this too
>under 6ft
that probably means he's like 5'11, fuck off with the lanklets
He's already Mysterio and Deadpool won't interact with the MCU anyway.
>gettong excited about Disney X-Men
Why do you do this to yourself?
It needs to be Danny DeVito.
It's not as if Jackman was an action hero when he was cast either.
