Honestly,the 93 movie seemed to be using the Super Show for most of its source material. Mario and Luigi being plumbers from Brooklyn, Bowser being called Koopa, the whole "found the secret warp zone while working on the drain" thing...
That was all Super Show.

I mean the live action segments are the only reason to even watch Super Show, those are far better then the animated segments

the movie’s biggest problem is that most characters look nothing like their game versions, at least in this they’re closer to the source Material more

If Pan wasn't bullshitting about his insider info at illumination he said that they considered having someone else be the lead for the Mario movie because the studio is worried people might find his voice annoying after too long

I would’ve loved to see the DiC version of Wario and Waluigi, both live action and animated. They would fit really well in the super show thinking back on it.

It was on a live stream he did playing that Disneyland Xbox game with his gf I don't think he kept it up after it ended, but she actually brought up the thing about the Mario Bros movie and he quickly got her to change the subject because that wasn't supposed to go out there(if true)

I really doubt that Martinet will be recast. Him voicing Mario is basically a well-known fact even to general audiences, and, after what happened with the early reception to the Sonic movie, studios should recognize that screwing up major components when adapting video games is no longer something that can be brushed under the rug.

They should definitely keep the voices the same but the voice actors are going to have to try harder to give a good performance. Speaking in longer sentences is harder to do than "YAHOO," "WAH," or "HI I'M DAISY!"

It had only half the budget of Mario 3, which is why all the characters are shorter.
