Personally, I think Art Fortunes is losing his touch.
There is even a rumor the publisher plans to replace him for his brother Les.

Where is this "Big Bad" coming from? Is this some kind of Berenstein Bears debate?

Beetleborgs was ai'ight. But Metallix was better.

Eh, the manga's better.

You're kidding, right?

>Big Bad
It's kind of a pet name the fandom gave the comic, nobody can really remember how or when it started, but it has remained with us for years

Reference to their roots as characters in a Horror/Black Comedy anthology. Superheroes gone Bad, basically. Then it spun off into a series that just settled on playing everything straight.

>Metallix was better
Too bad the run was so short... I even read it had to do with Art and Les having a feud over the last storyline, with Art using villains created by Les without his authorization

Needed more monsters.

That would be interesting... rumors say Les' arrest and imprisonment had to do with with comic "Brain Suckers".

Beetleborgs was cool but the sequel comic, Bibleborg, was way cooler

I never understood why they gave the Beetleborgs human forms in the manga...
Do you think it had to do with their tokusatsu series?

>Bibleborg
Still waiting for the crossover with Silver Ray and Karato

That was the name of the first series, still gets tagged as the name of the current series even though it was the one without an adjective in the title. Back in the early 90s Big bad was running alongside Battlin' Bustin Beetleborgs(an action focused book), Brave Bodacious Beetleborgs(The younger children's book) and Beefy Badass Betleborgs(the Liefeld title). No-adjective Beetleborgs was initially Art's return to the franchise after a hiatus and they chose to continue that one rather than go back to the orignal title. still, a lot of people consider it to be the successor to BBBB since a lot of people didn't like the Moore run after Art's 20 year run.

Hey, that's Pirantishead! Did Les plagiarize monsters from Lord Zedd?

Have you guys been watching the new Beetleborgs series? It's called Brave Boss Beetleborgs and such a great return to form for the franchise.

>Lord Zedd
He is a good monster designer, good enough for people to still use his nickname instead of his actual name... but Les created that thing first, everyone knows it

I literally just watched a clip of Shadowborg, what the fuck

>Moore's Beetleborgs
It was filled with good intentions, but Moore could never replicate what Art created
But to be fair... "The Killing Vore" and its reimagining of Shadowborg was a masterpiece by itself

What did you guys think about Frank Miller's story, The Beetleborgs return?

Vexer killing himself by snapping his neck was badass, but I could have done without the raping of Jara scene.

I loved how he turned Shadowborg and Josh into the same person (bringing their bond into full cycle), and forcing the Beetleborgs to kill his ally just to get rid of their deadly enemy.

That being said "The Beetleborgs Strikes Again" sucked, what was he thinking?

The idea that the Beetleborgs were never human but rather just robots with the memories of human templates was groundbreaking, and Art chose to keep that when he picked back up. It also gets rid of all the goofy human scenes like in the manga and toku series.

There is something about the modern design that I don't like, the eyes too big for example.
That being said, the storyline is quite awesome, I read Art actually approved many of the scripts.

>the manga and toku series
They have their charm, but clearly the producers didn't understood the stuff that made BBBB the hit it is

Maybe you guys know, but it is true that Fortune Comics plans to revive "Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog"?

I know the original comic has its great deal of criticism due to the use of photos, actors and chroma key instead of real drawings... but I still have a few numbers and the stortyline is quire interesting.

God theme song is fucking amazing. Did you know there’s an extended version?

>The Killing Vore
Too bad they ruined it with that recoloring they did for the reprints...

Now this, this is amazing

I'm 33 and i still sing the line "BIIIIIG BAD BEEETLE BORGS!" in my head because its so ingrained in my memory.

It is true that Fortune Comics also acquired the rights for VR Troopers, Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad, Masked Rider, Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills?
