Not bait tho, the show is generic, the characters are oversued archetypes without any unique trait, the premise is simply a generic isekai story, the worlbuilding is pretty generic and shallow, there absolutely nothing unique about it at all, not even a single tiny detail.

Low-quality bait

The best thing about Amphibia is its gradual approach to change in the status quo. The big plot events for the first season are just "Anne arrives, Anne loses the magic box, Sasha and Anne reunite but fight" but there's much more going on with characterization and character dynamic. It stops a "plot vs. filler" dichomty from poisoning the show and is a subtler, more elegant use of continuity which has been fashionable for several years now.

If there's a significant flaw in it's execution is that I feel Sasha needed a lot more development but Prison Break and the first half of Reunion was enough to get her character and motivation down and that most of the inhabitants of the world while likable are pretty bland sans the Planters. It's definitely one of the show's where the lore and characterization are interesting but takes a backseat to the episodic adventures which is fine since I thought shows like StarVs and AT got worse when the started focusing solely on the lore and relationships.
