I think my issue is I wanted something a little more folklorish/mythical. Something about the characters and their backstory and quirks give me that vibe but in execution it's just a kind of mediocre monster of the week show with really shallow characters. Also the 108 part is a weird thing to hold onto when we only get the six and the rest are background characters who only occasionally show up.
