That's because Aang didn't think to even try. He was, from his perspective, just an average Air Nomad kid. Whereas with Korra's time, the search for the new Avatar was something that was made very public and was most certainly going on with the Water Tribes given the Avatar Cycle. So of course Korra, being the pompous, competitive little shit she was, is of course going to have the wherewithal to try and bend more than just water.

I have yet to watch anything Avatar related, but from what little I have seen, I don’t think I’ll ever bother.

What? Look I get that The Avatar is naturally gifted at learning the 4 elements but Aang still had to learn them. It requires actual techniques, discipline. It’s not a superpower where you can just magically shoot fire or lift rocks because you want to. Korra at the age of 5 or whatever is stomping around firing off 3 elements wild like nothing. Who the hell taught her to firebend or earthbend? It’s state of mind and again, technique. It’s stupid the way they did it.

Also why did they break the opposite rule? Korra should have had difficulty learning Fire, not air

Listen smartass, I watched the show, apparently you need to refresh yourself. Bending only becomes second nature AFTER they learn it. Stuff like Aang sneezing a hurricane or Toph cracking earth when she’s mad? Wasn’t like a magic/x-men mutant ability they could just do since birth. That’s one of the core problems with the Korra show; they treat bending like a mutant power rather than a discipline. Stuff like lightning bending, an advanced fire bending technique, now a commonplace power any jackass can do at a power plant apparently
