At least the character designs aren't completely repulsive like most "adult" cartoons.

Thinking people will be less likely to cancel their subscriptions if they release episodes weekly.

The Orville isn't Star Trek either, and it seems like that show understood that.
But why is Orville like the only thing in ages that actually resembles Star Trek?

Releasing episodes across weeks means people will be talking about it for weeks, and that means word of mouth marketing, which is priceless. Dumping episodes all at once is only a good model when you still have to convince people that streaming is worth the risk.

I found it really fun. Nothing made me laugh out loud and I rolled my eyes a few times, especially during that romance subplot.

I think it also makes it more inviting for some people to watch it at all. I can always find time to check out a single episode of a new show but when they drop like 8 at a time it's not as easy. And when several of your shows get new episodes all at once, you might need to abandon some. This system benefits neets mostly.

I enjoyed it. Getting DS9 vibes which I felt was the only Star Trek show that wasn't Federation Propaganda. It's nice to observe citizen's and Feddy personnel that aren't the 'best of the best' and paragon's the human spirit, while cruising around in the most advanced ship in the fleet. I'll keep watching.

Curious, I actually found season 2 better.

Eh. It was okay. Probably a 6/10 right now. The animation is surprisingly fluid, but the humour was mostly miss. Gonna give it a chance to get over those initial pilot jitters, though.

One thing I'll say is that Mariner is pretty annoying so far. Weirdly hot, but pretty annoying.
