How come comic art isn’t this good?

Most everything’s art isn’t as good

Most comics are made to be mass produced every single month. If you want good comics you need to go to standalones

*cough*

A large chunk of Berserk's art isn't that good either.

I agree. As long as OP doesnt show that his pic is the norm, not the exception, i will claim that why cant manga produce good art as Alex Ross?

you're comparing an excellent looking manga to most comics. come back with an average looking manga and the comparison will be more in line.

Pretty much nothing is as good as Miura. This isn't even remotely a fair comparison. It's like posting Moebius on Zig Forums and asking why can't manga look that good.
Except if you did that, someone would post Miura.
And now, as is customary, I must call you a faget.

Would take too much time and efford. Capitalist Murrica can't have that. Time is money.

Also the Berserk artist is literally a genius and a bad example. He drew pic related age 10.

Berserk is my favorite manga, but its art is considered one of the greats. But western comics do hit similar highs as well as lows.

Equating level of detail with quality is the tell-tale sign of an art pleb. Just because the aritst was autistic enough to bury his panels in un-necessary linework doesn't mean it was good. Plus, it's not conducive to timely storytelling as evidenced by Miura's output rate.

Those who keep complaining simply just know 5 comics. And those probably include Scott Pilgrim.

Imma be honest it's because not many people are on miura's level, and those that are never sell their talent to marvel or dc, thank goodness.

this guy's art is so awesome, its so realistic it feels surreal.

huge Miura fan but there are some western artists that hit his level and beyond

Yeah, people kinda forgot how clunky the people looked..
It was not very good

I mean, that is from 1989.
There's definitely a point where Miura switched from doing simpler "anime" construction of flat shapes, to a more robust approach of laying down boxes and spheres to improve the perspective and anatomy, but there was a noticeable learning period during the first few years of Berserk.
It also took some time to become more confident with hatching, shading and detail, whereas early on he used a lot more Chiaroscuro.
He's been illustrating the same story and characters for more than 30 years. Very few artists anywhere are as dedicated, so trying to imply that he's indicative of the "Manga" sphere of illustrators is facetious. The man is an exception, not the norm.

bad example, that is an atrocious coloring job

I agree, but it looks like something equivalent to those full page artworks in Berserk, when there's just a shitton of shapeless beasts.

Also, I think the quality of the scan is just shit.

No he didn't. That picture is form a series made in 1985. There is NO surviving copy of Miuranger and NOBODY on the internet knows what it looked like.

How the fuck does Youtube scum get half a million subs with their misinformation garbage?

You could always compare him to Dave Sim

Although I do agree he improved a lot over time, Nah man, his humans still look clunky.
I used to love the art, but now I think he's been hiding his skill behind an absurd amount of detail and hatching.
Still love the series though

That's what happens when you don't actually read things and just read what other people say about them. If Super Eyepatch Wolf had read Noa he'd know it wasn't made when Miura was 10. But he didn't, he just parroted the misinformation he got from Reddit.

Misleading sensationalism is an easy way to get clicks.

No, he, and others, thougt that this pic was from another project that doesn't have any picture online.

Don't tell me, I blame Zig Forums neckbeards and underage b& cancer for many opinions which get copy pasted by Youtubers all the time, causing shit like the LOU2 Metascore of 3%, or everyone whining about Star Wars despite the target audience being kids who grew up with Episode 1-3 and Clone Wars.

Without Zig Forums, noone would have given a fuck about New Warriors, I don't know why people even discussed that trash which looks like it would have had a lifespan of one issue.

yeah miuras early art was very mediocre at best and shit tier at worst.

How much of Berserk is actually Miura these days? Duranki looks exactly the same, and literally all of the finished art was done by assistants.
