The story you saw in Steven Universe as is is different from the one I had envisioned. I imagined this vast sci fi world where humanity is put on trail against these ineffable foes. How humanity could triumph over anything.
That was added long after the concept was taken from me. I’m not an anime fan

I made a story similar to a lot of what the show presents before that stuff was even revealed in show but I’m changing some aspects of it. The main difference is that while a lot of surface level shit like diamond and crystal and kaiju themes and a protection specialized power set hybrid will be involved I’ll turn it into a deconstruction of said show.

But it will still be a pain in the ass if/when Zig Forums and everyone else starts comparing the two. Like I do have proof on website dates and shit that can vouch for some of the similarities existing before it showed up in show but I ain’t linking that shit nor bringing it up until I need to.

When i was in fourth frade i was really autistic about warrior cats and it inspired me to make a comic based on a race of alien space cats with gems embedded into their heads that gave them superpowers who's ship got hit by a freak "asteroid" (later revealed to be a ship piloted by a group of different evil aliens who wanted to take over the earth) then crash landed into earth and ended up becoming guardians of the human race. Basically the plot of cats vs dogs but more anime.

it might not even be deliberate, you might actually believe it. a lot of talentless hacks tend to mistake superficial similarities (e.g. "involves gemstones" / "lesbians from space" / "has a protagonist") as evidence of plagiarism, since by their nature, these hacks don't actually know what really goes into creating effective worlds, characters, or stories.
