This show premiered years ago.

i know it's a twitter screencap thread but i'm genuinely curious wtf is going on

I fail to see what is wrong with this.
I mean, did anyone one R&S back? last time REALLY sucked.

ban tweetposting

Go to bed, John.

I don’t think she understands the term “literal”. John preyed on teens, silly.

She shouldn't be throwing stones

Because hiring people on the basis on being "new and diverse" always ends up being horrible.

OP is saying she's hypocritical for recently shitting on reboots (specifically Ren & Stimpy) for "taking away original ideas and voices" while her big break was directing season one of a reboot

>Harry Potter knockoff creator Dana Terrace talks about creating new things
oh im laffin

Comedy Central is going to resurrect Ren & Stimpy and the vast majority of people hate the idea.

>did anyone one R&S back?
Did anyone want Ducktales, Animaniacs, She-Ra, or PPG?

The only reboots/revivals people desperately wanted were Clone High, Invader ZIM, Samurai Jack, and Mission Hill. You know, things that got cancelled prematurely.

I don't think anyone really wants R&S back, it's just that, didn't everyone screaming about how there should be no R&S reboot sight unseen (despite it being unlikely John K is involved) taking shots at people who got upset at Thundercats Roar?

Like, if they can prove Viacom or whoever paid John K for each episode then I could understand everyone being upset. But didn't Robyn and everyone else try to say to make it clear that the 90s Ren and Stimpy was also done by a crew that shouldn't be blamed for John K's actions?

The more I see them use the word "diverse" the more it dawns on me that they only mean genitals, sexuality and skin colour.
That there is such a thing as diversity of experience has never occurred to them and never will, because they don't actually understand what diversity is other than what has been drilled into them with pavlovian conditioning.

"Say; "Diversity is strength. More diversity is always good"
"Woof woof! Diversity is strength. More diversity is always good!"
"Good girl, have an upvote"

Also, doesn't that mentality kind of have a hint of ageism? The industry already struggles keeping veterans on because studios desperately do not want to pay their union rates, so it's become very common practice for long-time people to be let go in favor of new, cheaper, young blood who don't know what their worth. They frequently hide behind the barrier of, "We want new talent" when they actually want cheap talent.

A big reason why 2D animated films died is because CG animators don't have the same union rates so they were able to get away with hiring bigger crews for a CG production for the same price as a smaller 2D team. It's a big reason why all those 2D veterans lost their jobs basically over night.

I'm so tired of the phrase "diverse voices." Why is every politically-inclined person incapable of forming independent thought? Why do they all sound like someone forming sentences from a soundboard of stock phrases?

Twitter is not an accurate reflection of the majority opinion. Way more people have fond memories of Ren and Stimpy than even know about John K or his shenanigans.

Of those, Ducktales was probably the closest but what people really wanted was an animated Life and Times.

She-Ra was something more people would have wanted back when the He-Man reboot was on the air.

Outside those prematurely cancelled shows you mentioned we should be looking at "reinterpretations" instead of "reboots"
Something like the Disney Afternoon where Jungle Book became a dogfighter pilot adventure, Chip n Dale becoming detectives, or even something like Looney Tunes Show where they are put in a sitcom setting. Not just reviving PPG with a similar format but fucking horrible jokes or the same show but added gays

>Get your big directing break on a reboot
>Get a show thanks to nepotism with your highly connected boyfriend

Who the fuck is Dana to talk about giving a fair chance to new, diverse voices when all she did was craft a show to replace her boyfriend's while simultaneously ripping off Harry Potter and LWA?

I'm pretty sure she never actually said that.

No, just Burbank artists and artists hoping to work in Burbank and sucking industry cock because they want to get noticed think it's a bad idea. If you actually read the responses on people like Louie Zong's tweet, a lot of people are saying:
>Separate the art from the artist
>Who cares? John's not working on it.
>I like Ren & Stimpy, I'm excited.

New doesn't mean good.

Well she's a white 20-something woman.
You know, the MOST DIVERSE voice you could possibly get.
Yep there's a huge lack of white 20-something women in animation, there's barely any at all really so it's a good thing more is being done so we can all hear their very diverse voices and their opinions on everything.

>People who worked on a reboot talking shit about a reboot that hasn't come out yet.

Attached: baby groot.jpg (639x630, 73.19K)

Because they're literally NPCs.
They're just repeating verbatim what they hear off the MSM, because for some reason they think whatever bullshit the MSM spews is the majority opinion, which is safe and makes them on the right side of history.

>TWITTER WOMAN SAID REBOOTS BAD SO THEY'RE GOOD NOW
lmao fucking NPCs

She's right though ren and stumpy was always shit. It was lolsorandumb garbage where the joke was just gross out humor

>White lady who can afford to go to an expensive art school and live in California with her Jewish boyfriend making a show about a Dominican girl and talking about how proud she is that her protagonist is diverse and brown

Some white saviour complex shit going on here.

>tfw everyone has to pretend they like John K now because Culture War

More diversity is always good
More diversity is always good
More diversity is always good
More diversity is ALWAYS good
More diversity is ALWAYS GOOD
MORE DIVERSITY IS ALWAYS GOOD

>the vast majority of people hate the idea.
>people
Twitter users don't count as people. They barely count as animals.

No one in these threads is hyped for R&S. Everyone is pointing out the hypocrisy. Last year, these industry folk were calling everyone manchildren for screeching about Thundercats Roar. Now they're clutching their pearls over a R&S reboot as if John K's hand is going to come out of a screen and grope underaged girls.

Yeah and 4channelers are subhumans.

>Ducktales
Yeah, there was even hype on Zig Forums for a bit and I recall the thread for the first episode being positive.
>Animaniacs
From what I've seen, people have been lukewarm at worst.
She-Ra
No one wanted that.
>PPG
No one wanted that.

The difference is thundercats had been good at one point

There was a really funny thing a little while ago where a black Tory was being yelled at on the news because she didn't think Dianne Abbot (Labour) represented her despite her also being black.

Disney will never adapt Life and Times and if they did it would be pure horseshit and without the same emotion and atmosphere that made the original (plus censorship galore)

>if you hate one reboot you must hate all reboots or you're a hypocrite
How retarded are you?

Her tweets in op shitted on all reboots for not being original and new yet she worked on one, are you this retarded

She did in a different way

Attached: 1596350615930.jpg (720x707, 72.87K)

Imagine the reaction of people when they see the credit: "Ren & Stimpy created by John K."

Attached: duck sweating ren and stimpy.gif (336x200, 1.99M)

Anyone with a brain should hate the idea after the disaster that was Adult Party Cartoon.

Aren't they both kids? What does it matter?

They removed that credit midway through the original run. They're not going to keep it.

You know, some days I wish everyone who wasn't straight would just die on the spot because I am so fucking tired of having to put up with their bullshit and listen to their nonsense.
