Is humanity doomed in the X-men verse? Seems we either get replaced by machines or mutants. Can't we do anything to stop it?
Is humanity doomed in the X-men verse? Seems we either get replaced by machines or mutants...
The Inhumans offered a potential solution to the Mutant Question. Shame they didn't follow through with it
Muties are just an obstacle for humans to further evolve. No matter what happens humanity in any form would win this fight.
Since Moria confirms that humanity was stated to became Phalanx food, and before that turned into oans, yes. Humanity is fucked.
Isn't it basically confirmed the only happy ending for humanity in Marvel is in the world ruled by Doom?
>the solution is to inhale an alien gas and emerge from disgusting cocoons as some mutated freak
That isn't much better then be a mutie, you're a freak all just the same.
Okay, Doom.
Don't you have Latveria to run?
>Isn't it basically confirmed the only happy ending for humanity in Marvel is in the world ruled by Doom?
Yes.
A single Nimrod is sufficient enough to fuck the collective mutants (Omegas included).
He's not wrong though.
It's true, that was literally the outcome of the sixth timeline Moira saw in HoXPoX. Did you even read it? That was the entire point, the humanity ALWAYS wins in the end because mutants can't compete with engineered evolution.
I don't think that's true actually, becoming one with the Dominion isn't a bad outcome, since it was a willing exchange with a superior civilization.
Mutants attempted to engineer their own super mutants but they made the mistake of trusting Sinister with it.
As much of an asshole Doom is, he is pretty much the last line of defense for humanity. If humanity is in deep shit, you can count on doom to pull it out of said shit.
user, mutants may be naturally occurring, however why care about that when Science > Random chance? Humans merely used machines as a distraction for muggas. The real goal was always cyborgs.
>we
How do you know you wouldn’t be a mutant in the Marvel universe?
>mutants may be naturally occurring
They ain't. Moria past lives proved that mutants aren't natural. Even without Moria's past lives as evidence, the inner circles of the X-men, Magneto, the Eternals, Reed Richards, and etc are aware of the fact that the Celestials created the X-gene. Thus unnatural.
Mutants are not meant to be the doom of humanity, they're meant to be the next step in our evolution and as obnoxious and poorly handled as the comics make it honestly in a universe filled with planet eating Gods and galaxy genociding tyrants humanity needs the upgrade to stay relevant.
No, that's not what it means. Celestials *are* also part of nature, their experiments drive evolution as it is, because if we're at it, they are the ones responsible for the Homo Sapiens too, or did you forget that in the Marvel past, humans were just apes until the Celestials appeared and introduced the Eternals and Deviants?
By that logic humans themselves aren't natural either.
Honest question. Who is the guest geneticist after Sinister? Beast? Dr Nemesis?
DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM.
The celestial seeded tons of life and let it go it's own course via Darwinian evolution. They aren't active hands of God. They are like the approach of a God who caused the big bang and then let things unfold
Eh. Celestials afaik do that everywhere in the universe so I still consider mutants naturally occurring
That makes sense. Of course, we could just kill 'em all. No competition means we get to languish in humanity forever.
recent canon changes suggest that the Celestials did not do any of their Earth-meddling on purpose. a Celestial named the Progenitor was mortally wounded, crash-landed on Earth, and contaminated the ecosystem with the X-Gene
We'll probably survive in one ofmr or another to rebuild civilization. Can't keep a good human down.
That explains how there are more mutants on earth but aliens can have the X-gene too
We don't fucking acknowledge Aaron's retcons in here. And it still doesn't contradict what the First Host did which was most definitely on purpose, as they experimented on early apes and created humans, as well as eternals and deviants, and introduced the mutant gene in some of them. Remember the "Progenitor" allegedly arrived before the First Host, but all it did was cause super powered people, not humans.
We had a good run, the mutants can take over. Byzantium to Humanity's Rome
t. Mutie.
sorry comrade but everything is canon even the dumb shit
Eternals and/or Deviants were meant to be the next evolutionary steps, X-Gene carriers are basically just accidents
>Be hero
>Always triumph in the end, no matter poor the odds
>Be mutant
>Always lose in the end, no matter how many tries you get
That's Aaron's bullshit. Best to just ignore it.
Would explain why earth has so many reality warping mutants despite us never seeing a single alien mutant reality warper.
Okay, if it's canon at least we know it doesn't contradict anything, since we have the History of the Marvel Universe miniseries that maps out the chronology of events, and we know that even if this donut steel Celestial arrived first to die and seep its vomit, whatever, it didn't advance evolution on its own. This happened a million years earlier, much earlier than the First Host.
Yeah, I've read Berserk, I ain't falling for that shit.
