It's a little jokey, but the first arc where Queen Sonja has to defend a Hyrkania from a warlord conquerer is pretty clever.
I like the stories where inferior forces win through superior tactics.

Are they? I guess since Hyrkanian's are known for their horsemanship and the biome is similar to the steppe, that just sorta happened.
The Hyrkania in the current arc seems like a miserable place, where losers come to be failures together. There's a bunch of white looking dudes, but also exiled Kothians and vaguely brown, mixed people.

My wishlist for the movie.
These 1st 2 are non negotiable. If they aren't met then the project can die in a grease fire.
> (1) Zero misandry or anti male overreactions by Sonja. She can kill or maim actual attempted rapist but no moments of her harming people just because they flirted with her or commented on her sexiness. Don't make Sonja a brooding tight ass, let her get drunk, be fun & sexy.
> (2) She has a largely faithful adaptation of the iconic bikini for the majority of the film. None of that "they get the iconic look at the very end of the film when they actually becomes the character we know" type of bullshit, this probably won't get a sequel.

I feel like a lot of the criticism of the chainmail bikini would be removed if other characters in the comic actually dressed like barbarians and such.
But most Red Sonja comics seem to pit her in something akin to the middle-ages in central Europe.
Would make more sense if it were a hotter climate and more men in loincloths.
