Hell no. They made her a weird fucking hippie in that for some reason. Jessica Cruz is perhaps the best example of a Green Lantern, someone who experienced great fear and overcame it. She saw her friends get murdered in front of her, got PTSD, became a shut in too afraid to leave her home, got possessed by Volthoom to become the new Power Ring, and then SOMEHOW after all that worked up the courage to overcome her fears and become another emerald knight.

No, they're nothing alike. Comics Jess starts out as a shut-in with anxiety and you see her grow as a heroine while struggling with her self-doubt and growing as a person.
She debuts in Forever Evil and then gets her own series in Green Lanterns with Simon Baz, and then joind Justice League Odyssey where she's the main character team member.
