Basically this. Superman is the Champion of the Source and so long as he stays that way he will always have the power to do what's necessary to save the day. I'd love a Grant Morrison meta story that takes Clark's various incarnations (Gold, Silver, Bronze, Modern age) together and ties it into him being a regular Kryptonian that got massively powerboosted after he was chosen by the Source and that's why he's so much more powerful than even other Kryptonians the way he did his Batman arc that basically said everything was canon in it's own way. With All-Star being a thing though it's highly unlikely

Well, Superman overheard it with his super hearing, but he didn't tell Flash about it, because he didn't want to cheat. So Flash was trying to win the races (and was lapping Superman at that point) until Superman went full Hope force and caught up and won.

She's just less restrained in her use of her powers. Superman holds back a lot. In OWAW when he shed his mental blocks he was shredding Imperix probes alongside Doomsday, the same probes that were individually giving the rest of the League problems.
