People expected fun magic adventure show. Got shipping bait instead.

It was advertised as fun adventures with Eda and King. The show is called Owl House. The "magic school" shit wasn't mentioned in the early promotional materials, and it's not what most of us wanted from it.

Expectation: Magic Lone Wolf and the Cub
Reality: Boringer Harry Potter

It looked good, then it was revealed it fucking sucked

It looked like something similar to Rick and Morty, the story being mostly about Eda with Luz being her sidekick and the 2 going to countless different adventures and being wild.

In the end it closer to Harry Potter but without the mystery and villains.

Don't let this flaccid wad of a show distract you from the fact that in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off of Hell in a Cell, sending him plummeting 16 feet through an announcer's table.

I just wanted this. It feels like it's for the same demographic who enjoyed Nu!Doctor Who back during Ten/Eleven's runs, and that show's premise works ridiculously well with these kinds of characters the same way it works sometimes with Rick and Morty.

Luz doesn't have quite the same strengths in relation to her connection with Eda as Morty or one of the companions because the plot's always separating her from Eda and/or King for some reason or another. It's like they hardly even have much of a relationship.

The owl broom looks like the tip of a penis lol
Noice

>WWA actually paid a guy to throw another guy at this height in a stunt
>basically ordering a guy to break another guy arm and risk killing him

How in the fuck is that legal?

Said it before but it bears repeating. this is a another thing like 'the buzz on maggie' where the show (even the theme song) advertises that it's a misfit who's longing for a place where she can just be weird,
but then bait-and-switches you and makes her a wannabe normie who just wants to fit in and have dull, uninspired "pony princess good, high school great" stories.
if she was so keen on having friends and going to the prom and being popular, she could have just stopped being weird and interesting back HOME.

Can't unsee now.

You can get away with quite a lot when your performers are merely independent contractors.

Thankfully it's easy to avoid these shows now, since they all include the exact same shit.
Simply don't watch if:

1. It has a female lead
2. It has a minority lead
4. It is a reboot/remake
3. It features Magic/Satanism/Demonology

If you just avoid all shows that has one or more of these warning signs, you'll only be watching good cartoons.

well that's not true, it was great for at least 4 or 5 episodes.
and it still LOOKS great. Eda is still a fantastic character.
This is basically Gravity Falls if they stopped paying attention to Grunkle Stan and started focusing entirely on Pacifica

Man talk about dedication to your gimmick

shush
if you haven't seen sherclop pones' material, you are in for a treat. you don't even have to care for the show, it's just solid comedy
unfortunately it's hard to find since youtube keeps slamming them
I've just realized that, while on the surface, it seems like us-types have taken over animation and started doing things the fun and quirky way we want... what actually happened is valley girl normies took over, and now they want to make shows where everyone LIKES the bitchy popular girl, and redeems her.

>The owl broom looks like the tip of a penis lol
>Luz appreciates and cherishes her lesbian cohort, but she ultimately cannot let go of the cock.

That's deep user

I understood the reference.

It originally looked like Luz simply learning to be a witch from Eda while Luz experiences all the horrors of the Boiling Isles. But looking at the creator and knowing her history, the current setting makes sense.

Look at this image you posted.
Is there any Amity? Willow, Gus, the school itself Hexide? Lesbians? King and Eda hanging out in the background while Luz is doing stuff at the front?

No, it shows Luz, King and Eda doing magic and about to go on an adventure on a flying stick.

What they said: Luz goes to a magical world and learns magic from a very strange but likable huckster-witch named Eda.

What we got: Luz is in Hogwarts, while Eda's stuck in B-Plots.

I don't even hate all the stuff with the school but fucking hell, Eda - the best character by miles - is being wasted.

Vince McMahon abuses the fuck out of his workers, and you're making it easy for him to keep doing it.

I wonder if all that stuff about Dana attempting to put /ll/ in the show was true and Eda is being sidelined because she isn't Luz's love interest anymore and has basically been replaced by Amity in order for the show to still have its "representation".

Like 90% of Bisexual chicks

What? No, that's insane.

No, I'm pretty sure that they just planned on having the school in there "just a bit" and it got out of hand.
