New boards

It should happen, since multiple cartoon communities now find their homes in /trash/ and had to have boards created solely for them. They are clearly the shittier half of Comics and Cartoons.

I would like one board for comics and cartoons, and a separate containment board for dilating trannies to fuck off to.

I've never seen a single argument for why these two things should be connected in the first place besides "it's the western equivalent of Zig Forums" which is basically saying "muh tradition." It isn't an argument at all, and on that note I would happily take manga and anime being separate boards as well. Boards should be as specialized as possible as long as they have the community to support them. The slower boards are the better boards, we all know that.

Every comic person here wants to split. Why shouldn't toonfaggots want the same? If you come here for stupid kiddie cartoons then you get more of that, bully for you. Everybody wins, see?
Anyway we've been advocating for this since the beginning. It ain't happening. No one gives a shit about this piece of shit board.

I think it would be good to separate manga from anime on Zig Forums, but Zig Forums is good as it is.

Zig Forums is getting separated the way it is because the new boards form as a containment while Zig Forums also fills the same role of containment
/vmg/ was created presumably because of the gacha problem on /vg/ even though generals aren't allowed on /vmg/

Never going to happen. Zig Forums keeps getting new sub-boards because they're shithouse at actually talking about video games.

/jp/ - technically the first; created because neither Zig Forums nor Zig Forums wanted to have Touhou or Visual Novel threads
/vr/ - created because everyone shat on retro threads
/vg/ - Generals took over Zig Forums once because it was the only way to talk about vidya, so they were thrown out
/vp/ - conflicting origins, but basically Zig Forums couldn't tolerate Pokemon threads flooding the board whenever a new Gen came out
/vrpg/ - JRPG threads are nothing but waifu-baiting and WRPG threads are nothing but whining about JRPGs, so they were booted
/vmg/ - Moblie Games ain't vidya

With Zig Forums being about both I kinda get it since +90% of anime are based on manga or light novels anyway. A manga board would be nice but the culture between anime and manga fans are very similar. Comics and cartoons fandoms have extremely different cultures at this point.

Zig Forums is worse than Zig Forums because Zig Forums has virtually no crossposting. it's two segregated board occupying the same space. it's a failed experiment of a board created by people that did not understand the hobbies.

A manga board would just have 30 shonenshit manga threads up at all times. People think a manga board would be dedicated to seinen but thats almost certainly not the case. It’d be all the same dumb shit you see on Zig Forums.

A seinen/josei board could be alright I guess, but there’d be constant confusion about what’s allowed to be discussed.

I think it would be fine. Even if it's just filtering out anime threads, that would be an improvement
