Now that it's over, can we all agree it was the weakest animated TMNT show?
Now that it's over, can we all agree it was the weakest animated TMNT show?
Yeah we all agree
Not as bad as back 2 the sewer but still bad.
i liked it a lot. the art direction really popped and it showed an interesting time where leo was growing into leadership which raph presumed was his. wish it had gotten more of a run, it grabbed me way more than the cg show which seemed really bland to me.
Why was it bad again?
I get the feeling that this is a show where fans of the original weren't into it, but anyone who didn't really care about TMNT would think its the coolest shit ever, and that it'll get more of a fanbase a few years down the line that put it on the same pedestal as stuff like samurai jack.
No.
No matter how good people claim it is I will never watch it because they made April black and Casey a girl. (Watch people call me racist and sexist for not liking these changes when my opinion on irl blacks and woman has nothing to do with my opinions on cartoons)
I don't support bullshit changes done for absolutely not fucking reason and literally every single other detail of this show I end up knowing about makes me have nothing but distate for it.
Animation isn't even that good, it's basically just waggling keys in front of a babies face with action so fast you need to watch it 3 times to understand what the fuck is going on. That isn't good by any sort of measure.
That's still 2012.
>the only reason I wont watch this show is because of race and sex, but I'm definitely not racist or sexist
Don't reply to blog post user, they never stop.
It’s still better than 2003 by virtue of being consistent
>show does something ambitious and unique with its production and creative choices and is probably the single most standout TMNT series qualitywise
>gets an unfair bad rap from nostalgia fanboys and ironically the same people who bitch about calarts, when this show does everything possible to break those conventions
>is now relegated to an obscure and uncelebrated buried gem of a show
This show got shafted by the audience so hard. For once the producers let them do something cool and everyone shat on it for being different. If shit like motorcity came out today, Zig Forums would be bitching about it. Real fucking shame. Hope the creators get a chance to do something new.
t. Mutt
Changes done to characters for no reason other then brownie points are never good, there is never a good reason for completely changing a character from the original anyways. Baxter turning white in the original show is also complete bullshit and was done for probably as retarded political reasoning, so don't even think of trying to use that sort of logic at me. I hate it both ways, but of course nothing I say will change your mind because as a Rise fan, calling me racist is the only defense you have for bullshit like April being changed.
Blaming actual fans for your series failing does nothing but make it clear how pathetic this show really is.
Doesn't help they made radical changes for no reason, didn't even wait a full year after 12 ended and had the defense force using "URR RAAAACIST AAAAAAH" the moment anyone says anything probably didn't help it's chances either.
No, not even close. Hell, I consider it the franchises strongest outing yet because it's the only one that didn't last long enough to shit the bed.
except it's great
I liked black April more than her past iterations. She's less of a role model, but has an actual personality now and is fun to watch.
>but muh change for no reason its just sjw brownie points
Its a cartoon about giant turtle freaks fighting other freaks who fucking cares if its a different take. All of the characters are noticeably different, why get held up on this one thing?
Wait, it's over? Did they cancel it?
Kinda. Apparently it's getting a sendoff movie on Netflix, but the show is in the same limbo as Glitch Tech's.
It's the best Turtle show and you fuckers probably didn't watch much of it.
K
I'm an old fan and I like it just fine.
this wasn't Back to the Sewers so no.
I still keep this well above 2k3.
Rise, First Movie, 80s, 2k12=2k3.
it's got a fucking movie coming
And hopefully a Netflix series continuation.
I generally try to not be that one guy who hates on people for liking something new/different, but the fan base for this one is really testing my patience. They act like none of the previous series had any redeeming/positive qualities whatsoever. They're so far up their own asses.
is this in order from worst to best?
I think Rise has best Donnie.
>those numbers
doesn't change how shitty this bait is tho
Does anybody really go back and watch the 87 series? I haven't seen half this crap and I'm in my mid-thirties.
>people being brought into fandom by new series doesn't know about the previous iterations and it makes me mad
Why do people hate 2003 so much on here?
wow 2 rise threads I'm sweating
because its less enjoyable to the average viewer
Because it's easier to shit on past shows then it is to actually defend Rise.
seethe more
thanks aussie satan
Because of nostalgiafags wont shut up about it
Betrayal maybe? Fast Forward, Back to the Sewers, even the Ninja Tribunal season kinda just shat all over the series credibility. Not to mention it's pretty corny at times and the story framing is kinda clunky. I also never liked multiple box shots they did sometimes.
I want to watch rise but hate the 1st few episodes where should i start to get yo the actual plot?
