After looking it up the little mermaid one was from 9 years ago while the Beauty and the Beast one is recent.
Looks like animatronics have come a long way in 9 years and by that I really just mean design.
The Ariel one looks like she has downs.
Biggest problem is the size of her mouth which doesn't even have the bright red lips she is supposed to have.
ShowBiz pizza bear quality.
The most important thing to animate would be the hair but I imagine actual submerged animatronics would be difficult.

Meanwhile the Bell one is like one big rubbery Bell real-doll with an articulate robotic skeleton underneath.
Bell simply has a better design even on paper than Ariel who you're never really supposed to see from an angle under her bangs.

They fuck was the message of Beauty and Beast? The Beast and Gaston literally have the same personality and want a beautiful girl to fix them. Only difference is that Beast got what he wanted.

This is the fatal flaw of Disney style. By the time Disney made Bolt, they realized they can't do 1-to-1 translations of Renaissance era designs to CGI. Uncanny eyes from front view has been a thorn on Disney's side ever since Snow White, and their solution was to make sure the the pupil touches the corner of the bottom eyelid. It's the opposite of reality, and made all the characters look cross-eyed. So they tried that wide-eyed look for Ariel. Never fucking worked.
Most front view drawings from this era had the character looking to the upper left or right.
