It still blows me away how much fanart was drawn by the community of this couple/fusion. Given the fact that it is fully portrayed as a toxic relationship with Lapis getting Stockholm Syndrome and using it to punish herself, I saw so much fucking fanart of this at cons and figured that the regular community that surrounded the show would be totally against anything to do with it.
