I’m sick of superheroes. What are some good non-cape books?

I loved transmetopolitan. Good writing and a great setting. In a future where a single city has grown so large it influences the entire world, "totally not" Hunter s. Thompson is a reporter exposing the dirty laundry of the people in power.
Cerebus
Stray Bullets
City of Glass
Hitman (tangentially capeshit)
From Hell
Sin City
If you only read one of these, make it Stray Bullets
literally anything by vertigo or some weird avatar print stuff
Here's a thing I saved
Jason
Fables
Pic not related. You go for better Vertigo titles like Sandman Mystery Theater or Swamp Thing or Hellblazer.
Preacher is good
The goon.
It's Garth at his edgiest until the Boys dethroned it. His work is good when there's a tard wrangler to keep his ass in check, like in Hellblazer.
The Boys is also good, just because it's edgy doesn't mean it's bad.
Just because its edgy doesn't mean its good.
fante bukowski
the eternaut
megg, mogg, & owl
He asked for non-capeshit
Do you see Swamp Thing wear a cape?
And I wouldn't exactly call John Constantine a Superhero.
I think of that stuff as "Capeshit Adjacent".
And throwing a glance at my bookcase-
The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck(or just the Don Rosa Library collection, most of the stories are in volumes 4 and 5)
The Invisibles
Sunstone
Judas by Jeff Loveness
The Flintstones by Mark Russel
I'd say it's good in spite of its edginess
The Adventures of Luther Arkwright is great.
These are great too.
>If you only read one of these, make it Stray Bullets
That's funny, it's probably my least favorite of the bunch.
Sir, this is not a capeshit thread
So good but its such a shame the ending sucks and makes no sense.
The other 95% is excellent though.
>no McCrea to FRANK it up
Did McCrea ever work on Punisher max?
I hated this. Went into it expecting something like Blood Meridian, but it was a disney adventure.
Didn't like the supernatural aspect?
I knew what it was going to be. Just didn't like the style it was written, provided I only read the first two arcs before stopping. It was very much a standard adventure comic.
He did Marvel Knights Punisher.
lmao I just realized I was Steve Dillon not McCrea who did PunisherMAX.
