That was kind of the whole point of the book the whole point of the book was to basically show Manchester black and the fans of characters like punisher/the authority/every edge Lord 90s character ever why superman shouldn’t be a dick who kills people. That one where he’s snapping Lois Lane’s oxygen tank off while she’s in space is to get her away from the rocket before she explodes/is dragged into an exploding star.
The one where he’s burning that Coach Jimmy Olsen gifted him is because a witch placed a curse on him that would kill those who are close to him so he deliberately alienating everyone to try and spare them from dying.
And there are many many more.
I think the lesson we get from both of those is that you shouldn't write that kind of stories with Superman because they would massively suck.

Regrettably. Everyone who's tried with Superman since roughly the 90s has failed. In both the movies and the comics.
