Did you guys enjoy the short lived DC Rebirth?
Did you guys enjoy the short lived DC Rebirth?
Kinda did, enjoyed some Detective comics and Superman, but I only sticked around to see LoSH come back. Pretty disappointed by the results of that and dropped it, so I’ll give cape shit a break for while until the company recovers from 2020.
Not really. Nothing about it was good.
No, it was cancer.
fuck off cocksucker
you prefer the New 52 then, are you retarded
Superbrofags are cancer.
loved it. bought all the new issues. When Didio killed it, i stopped reading and have not been back since. Let the normies have their metal batman bullshit.
I prefer anything. Rebirth is cancer.
neck yourself
Calm down, sperglord.
It was wonderful. I finally had hope, real hope, that DC was at long last getting it's act together. Now I honestly don't believe they'll make it to the end of the decade.
No not really. Nothing of it is worth remembering other than Yang NSM off the top of my head, but tensions with China will make that idea too untouchable despite the wealth of issues that a book like that can tackle. (Besides by the end they already defected from.the Government anyway. No the Great Twenty is fucking retarded Johns, I like the Great Ten but latching Kenan and Friends with them isn't something that should just happen because they're both chink teams)
Some thoughts.
>Tomasi Superman was charming but it was 30 issues of Jon going 'Gee Pops! This sure is swell' and a bunch of even more inconsequential filler.
>Rucka WW cutting off the Azz run from canon was a good move but it was then followed up by a shit run that was made to build up on whatever bullshit Johns cooked up for Diana that he was too incompetent to follow up on.
>Abnett Titans being crippled before it can even take off because Johns black balled any meaningful story development for Wally
>Every other bullshit teased in the Rebirth One Shot were absolute disappointments
>Mr Nobody or whatever that persona Jor-El cooked up was dumb
>The Search for Ray Palmer was disappointing
>Teen Titans with Damian? Immediately relaunched into something different
>Giffen Beetle retcons out Rogers Beetle which is a fucking travesty and just uses it as a vehicle to continue whatever storyline he had in JL3K
>FFS Mera and Arthur don't get married till fucking yeard after Rebirth.
Those three are really the only books that had any sort of interest for it going in to Rebirth and by the end they dropped the ball hard. There was no actual plan other than get the status quo into something that looks more familiar pre reboot, no actual follow-up or path to development other than DOOMSDAY CLOCK. (Which is only liked by the same people who already liked edgy dumb event books like Infinite Crisis, so you know what the level of IQ these people have)
then stop trolling and post something of value
>then stop trolling
Take your own advice.
as I said before neck yourself, you only deserve these replies if you post autistic shit
Why are you so angry? Post something of value, sperglord.
>Hal Jordan and the GLC was great it was nice to see the 4 OG Lanterns work as brothers
>I enjoyed Action Comics and Superman a lot brought back the real Superman and had some amazing action with wholesome moments
>Nightwing was pretty good before King stepped in and shot him
>Titans was awesome, it was great to see Wally shine again and interact with the OG Titans before they began jobbing him again
>Flash I also really enjoy to this day
Infinite Crisis and Doomsday Clock were the opposite of edgy the whole point is they were both saying going full edge is bad tldr, actually read them this time, the only downside is DC never follows it's own advice
Half and half, really. But to be honest, a substantial part of my hype was killed because I cottoned on to Johns having zero plan for Rebirth early on. Ruined the vibe for me since I knew there was no point in theorizing or looking ahead to anything.
yes very much yes. I enjoyed how it scaled back shit for the most part, not having events, stories being more basic but enjoyable. I liked New/Superman/sons, I liked Jess and Simon being thrust into the spotlight, I liked how Lex was an arrogant hero, I like how Jason, Art, and Biz melded together, Ollie was returning to form, there were far more hits than misses for me for that era, It felt like Rebirth was settling down after experimental takes of N52.
No, it killed my interest in DC Comics for good. I had already given up on Marvel years back.
Doomsday Clock killed the entire momentum of Rebirth. So many characters, teams, and concepts sidelined, all because John's decided to re-write the story at the last fucking second. Damn shame, too, it really could've turned DC around.
Id argue it was Metal since clock could have been relegated to the background for the most part
wasn't Johns fault
It got me into comics and then DC pissed all over it starting in 2018.
I'm about to quit comics again after two years of feeling mostly anger.
>Going full edge is bad
>Hence why we will fill our edge bad event comic with a bunch of edgy bullshit
Oh wow they sure killed the edge monster when they nonchalantly wrecked some cities like Bludhaven and whatever that ruskie city was in DClock, killed a bunch of B-Listers and C-Listers and wow a few A-Listers to really show the stakes.
Pre Crisis Superman going "Everything new is bad" and Doc Manhattan going "It needs to be tragic and alienating" are peak commentary.
At least shit like Final Crisis and Civil War for all the edge and bullshit they have aren't touting themselves as events that will address how grim dumb and dark comics are.
Who knew all we needed was have Superman go "Muh hope" and "no, being edgy is baaad Manhattan/Superboy Prime" to fix comics.
You don't need a fucking shitty event promising that comics will be good now to make good comics.
Johns apologist are the worst. Johns isn't as terrible as his detractors claims him to be but he is way past his prime and is undoubtedly a hack in all fronts.
I don't enjoy modern american comics period, they are all just the same white men hating sjw propaganda these days
Pretty much this except titans and teen titans became shit earlier, never read trash like Harley and I didn't hate metal, or at least the idea of metal. Even death metal doesn't strike me as awful if you understand the badly done meta shit
But I'm still reading most main books and some smaller ones, I just alternate with more old stuff than before
I still enjoyed those events for what they were maybe you don't need that message but at least they tried to show how important hope is for heroes at least that's what I got from it, like I said it's sad DC doesn't follow it's own advice but that doesn't those stories are bad
Modern comics aren’t made to be enjoyed by white men or boys anymore sadly
They are both garbage, and if you think Rebirth was any bit different from Nu52, then your are a very gullible mongoloid.
this and dcuniverse too, even dcyou was good.
Rebirth did bring back a lot of the classics stuff back, go actually read the comics instead of pretending like you did
