Hal Jordan comic books haven't leaned on Hal Jordan since 1993.

Ever since the Johns revival, Hal Jordan has always been, at best, the third most compelling character in his own regular ongoing. If John deserves ANY credit, its not for the color corps or dickriding an Alan Moore short story into years of multiple arcs across various titles, its that he brought back the GL Corps and Sinestro and then put them in front. They filled the void left by Hal's lack of depth who even Johns couldn't help, best he could do is try to make a young dad who repeatedly tested experimental jets for a private company dying in a jet crash somehow a tragedy. I bet Batman heard that shit from a weepy Hal and that was the moment, that was when he started to truly hate Hal, who considered his father's death a tragedy while Batman considered the true cause of death to be irresponsibility.

Anyway, Hal Jordan's good runs lately have very little to do with the character Hal Jordan itself. His supporting characters and villains are much more compelling.
