Why are comics so afraid of gay guys

I was looking into it and despute every calling dc and marvel "sjw" for the best couple of years why are they pretty much the only gay (not pre existing) characters i can think of

Hulkling isn't really a Hulk character. He's just a bulky teen kree/skrull character that took the name when he first started out. There's also Leah Williams's X-Factor which is a team of gay/bisexual mutants. Daken and Jean-Paul will probably have a hatefuck threesome with JP's boyfriend being spitroasted.

Because they're mostly muscled ugly looking guys. As a straight male i want to see a cute feminine boy who could tempt me into going full gay as i self-insert as the confused straight MC.

I liked them in YA vol 1 but kinda dropped of in vol 2

Frankly, the lack of actual buttsex between them is a disservice considering how long they've been together. At least there's finally acknowledgement that it happens.

Yeah that one really dropped the ball hard. It was like the author wanted to take the chance to write every character he'd ever wanted to AND salvage Wanda's name but just created a mess of a few final issues where the comic stopped even being about the YA.
I wish we'd gotten that arc he'd talked about before Civil War happened that he said was going to have a bunch on Speed and where he was living or something.

Old school comics were discreet but didn't shy away from it. Batman and Robin, Jimmy Olsen and Supes, Jughead and Moose.

That would have been nice. Tommy has always been waiting for an arc of his own. Maybe he'll be able to steal some page time from his brother thanks to his own interracial queer relationship.

Men read most comics and a lot of men find lesbians sexy. Only gay men and women find gay men sexy and that's a small demographic.

Straight men make up the majority of the audience, they'd rather see two girls making out than two guys

It's not that it's a small demographic, it's that it's not a demographic they've been able to convince to buy capeshit in large numbers. Comics and translated manga are considerably bigger industries than just the superhero segment.

Women don't have any real power and have been fucking each other to please men for time in memorium.

Men fucking each other is far more imortant.

Honestly Northstar's husband is so boring and almost nonexistent, I can understand why people forget they are married.

Predominantly male audiences find women doing taboo things less objectionable than men. Men aren’t generally portrayed as romantic, open or emotional, while women have been for ages, ergo a gay man is more shocking to the mass audiences than a lesbian.

Not just that but there were consistency issues because the comic was releasing one issue every two months and changes to other characters had happened. IIRC the comic itself was delayed before the first issue and that really messed things up because things didn’t align with other comics. And wasn’t Wanda retconned later on that she was a Doombot or something?
