This. Their "target audience" doesn't even read it. Barely anyone I know reads comics. And it's the same for them when I asked. So why would these few girls of an already few male majority groups buy enough of those comics to warrant a profit? The thing about female empowerment is you're just meant to write stories featuring empowering females (just well-written ones actually), not obviously pointing out "Wow this person is great for this reason!" Or "Look what girls can do as well" it comes off more as an attack on men but is advertised to girls. That won't sell well to girls as they're not actually the intended audience for some 40yo hag to self-insert a power fantasy for. No one wants or will read these books.
