Holy based. Fuck live action cinema

no and ralph bakshi is a cynical hack who never made anything acceptable

Wizards was okay

I watched his version and it was shit.

American Pop is legitimately good.

Didn't peter jackson like his version as well?

He probably did, Petr is a nice guy

Hackson started out making schlock before LOTR. Look up Bad Taste or Meet the Feebles.

Key word "originally" hated it. He probably warmed up to it later for what it is. And as much as I like him and his very own adaptation, I don't agree with him this time.

Ironic given that very image is a rotoscope of live action in a special effect.

Imagine being a complete hack and calling Weta workshop "garbage" despite making a living tracing.

Don’t shit on Braindead

>When there's a whip

Yeah Braindead was cool, I mean, he was a small time director in his homecountry, why WOULND"t he make Schlock?

No. Lord of the rings barely had any toys

Oh God not that one,

They had a shit ton of toys and games what are you on about?

Not the way I remember it.

Doesn't LOTR still generate a lot of revenue? even without the toys relating to the Hobbit

>weta
>garbage

It's a cultural touchstone. It can't not make money. Even if it sucks like the Hobbit.

Yeah, so I guess Ralph was right

There were things I liked about Bakshi's version, but the Jackson version is one the whole much better.

Meet the Feebles is Zig Forums isn't it? Wonder why we never talk about it. It put a bad taste in my mouth honestly, just too much gross-out humor for me and the low-budgetness made it feel so skeevy.

nice bait zoomer

You mean Kino right

If you say Ralph bakshi three times at 3 in the morning, a band of Nazi curries will appear and fuck your wife

I like it

I hope to also one day produce a film with the line "I want that fudgepacker eliminated"

Almost every one of those pictures is Lego, and there were no lotr lego when the movies came out, the first set was in 2012. Of the images the only one I'm sure was available at the time of the movies is the wraith form action figure bottom left. That line of figures was awesome though, cheap and quality somehow. There were also toy swords I remember but not much else.

Shit take. Nothing about the movies is specifically done to sell toys. It's just tellign a story and has some characters. If anything a lot of stuff is really low key like a wizard duel without any effects. At least when it comes to Fellowship(which is when I assume he made that comment) absolutely nothing was changed from the book with merchandising in mind.
And of course the battles later on have a lot of special effects the fuck do you expect? Even if it was not CGI but all practical effects what difference would it make for the "to sell toys" argument?
