Who was the best villain of the series?
Who was the best villain of the series?
No one
zaheer by far
they're all jobbers so no one
Korra herself
I’d say Zaheer except he did nothing wrong
Kuvira >= Amon > Zaheer >>> Unalaq
Kuvira was so right they had to make up some bullshit to justify opposing her.
Amon also had so much of a valid argument that they had to force him to do something ridiculously evil so they could justify opposing him.
Zaheer was sympathetic.
Unalaq was as dumb as the show deserved.
Anyone that's not Tarlok
Zaheer.
lol
Zaheer actually showing up in season 4 and helping out was pretty nice.
yeah real subtle Zaheer thread you got here
What was Zaheer's motivation again? I forgot.
All the villains had legitimate grievances and were charismatic enough to make their cases except for Muh Dark Avatar.
BLOW IT ALL UP!
AND I WILL BECOME THE DARK AVATAR!!!
Bo gods or kings, only men.
The writers
He was fine u til the second half where he went classic evil bad guy
Amon before the reveal.
everything sucks let's burn it all down
Among didnt even have that, the show never actually explained how he was wrong and just pretended his points stopped existing.
How accurate is this?
>Amon
Fraud who had a good point. His movement instantly fizzles out after he dies.
Zaheer
>Edgelord with his fanfic squad. Just kills people to see what happens because lol anarchy
Kuvira
>Cool, but the writers were terrified to specify exactly how Nazi she actually was
Unalaq
>Tricks the Avatar into opening the Spirit portals
>Kills literally every Avatar except Korra
>Fuses with the devil and becomes the DARK AVATAR
>Only stopped by a literal deus ex machina
>Korra later fucks up again and make yet another open spirit portal, he keeps winning even after he's dead
>So great the writer retroactively made him part of Zaheer's cool kids club
The choice is clear
Fuck, I meant Unalaq. It just REALLY goes to show how much I forgot about season 2.
Corrupt the avatar cycle, so it properly introduces chaos into the system, in order to maintain balance rather than stagnation.
Of course, they forgot all of this, and just decided to murder Korra with a plan that'd only work if P'Li was about a head taller.
water arm lady and lava guy
Based unalaq ruining the lore of avatar and ensuring korra will be remembered as garbage forever
Even if they captured baby Korra they probably would have used her to end the cycle after they were done using her to destabilize the world
Mike and Brian
The meme that S2 is bad is seriously making me want to type a fucking essay about this show.
>Zaheer is a pure anarchist, which technically leans to the left, but no one tell the Americans
>Amon is I guess the closest thing to an ethno nationalist? Except his teachings are based in equality and mistrust in those with power that they didn't earn, which adds a lot of left leaning to him
>Kuvira is authoritarian left, top left corner. Her policies are basically Stalin's, except with more denials of gulags and less starvation due to her.
>Unalaq is a theological anarchist of the highest order, literally okaying the idea of wiping out humanity, pretending to be a theological dictator
>Korra is an amusing douchebag, with an annoying glass chin
Most things need a shift of about 45 degrees, apart from unalaq who probably needs to be put on a different compass. Korra "that genocidal dictator sucks" I will concede is entirely accurate however.
Fpbp
we learn the Avatar State glow is a magic tapeworm kite and Korra turned into a big blue kaiju, even if you can scavenge a good argument on why B2 is good actually (war politics, Varrick) there's enough looming over it to sour a lot of user's tastes like Korra getting amnesia and turning into an infant or wiping out the Avatar State past reincarnations which conceptually was liked by a lot of people
Seriously, what were they thinking? This and the fact that Korra doesn’t evem feel eastern were my biggest gripes with the show
It is comprised of a lot of bad episodes. Unalaq at one point is shown to fucking slow time to make Korra's dad job. Either that, or the choreography of the scene messed up somewhere. Korra and Asami pining over Mako takes up way too much time, Bolin's antics are hit or miss for a lot of people, and Korra has multiple chances to take out Unalaq and doesn't take them.
I wouldn't say it's bad, but if you're invested in the show there's a lot of cheap dickery in terms of writing. Avatar Wan episodes were easily the best part.
It also has that extremely disturbing scene where Vaatu rips out Raava from inside Korra, and beats her to death against a rock. I imagine that would have been received better as an oh shit moment, had the entire avatar advice support group not been lost forever as well.
"Chaos is good because it's natural"
Appeal to nature is his entire motivation. Why are Air kikes so stupid?
His whole thing pissed me off. He would still have an tether in trying to change the world. Spiritually speaking to achieve flight he would have to be COMPLETELY devoid of wants or desires. He would have to just be.
