What can the comic industry learn from the manga industry?

To fuck off and let manga be its own thing
At this point nothing that isn't outdated.
Comics have a lot more issues than what can be covered with copying Manga's distribution or even content.
Comics have been digging their own grave since the 70s.
less sjws
Surprisingly much less that the manga industry can/has learned from the comic industry.
staing in each others lane
Well, diversify the types of stories you tell. Mystery, romance and horror comics are dead as far as mainstream Western comics go. I actually got to talk with Evan Dorkin once about how weird that was that all but capeshit and movie adaptations died in the West.
Cheaper paper would help. Manga is usually a better bang for your buck. Big brick o' manga for 15 dollarydoos? Or five collected issues of Burgerman for 20? Easy math for a frugal kid.
Art's usually a little easier on the eyes when it comes to most manga. Mostly due to the fact that the really good artists in the Western industry aren't on every book and they can't hit deadlines. That and I think there's a bigger emphasis on writers than artists in the Western scene.
To stop making east vs west threads FOR FUCK'S SAKE
Realistically, nothing. It's a cycle. Manga, American and European comics follow certain patterns sequentially. They follow us (unfortunately) not the other way around. Granted, it's going to be interesting to see if they follow us off the cliff but that's just one of those things. Fun to watch though.
Yeah like......
Respecting women for one thing.
Who is the lower woman?
Manga would be just as unpopular as comics, in the west, if they didnt get boost from anime.
this, who's the lower woman?
Using actual color.
Yeah, comics really don't have anything like anime to attract the public eye to comics.
Don’t pander to SJWs
>Gook vs Mutt thread
no
Women suck, they don't deserve respect.
Except those billion dollar movies coming out every year? The problem is that people watch a new movie and want to go read comics about the hero in it, only to find that all the current shit sucks dick.
Gook is a slur for Vietnamese people.
black and white, no more colors, don't look that good
more pages
the narrative should be guided more by scenes and moments and less by thought bubbles that "tell" the reader what's happening, cape comic are a awkward hybrid between a book and a comic strip, they should be more cinematic like mangas, the french comic last man it's a good example of what kind of narrative a cape comic could have if they use manga narrative tools better
the western cope is real
Take the good comic stories and make a decent quality animations adaptions out of them, a full series or a mini series, whatever it takes rather than the single half-assed animated movies like we typically get.
Plain and simple not everyone is into comics but the two can be harmonized into the same thing and widening its popularity to further create more material for each other to flourish together so we can expand our next generation of creativity and gain more quality comics or cartoons.
Its obnoxious when you guys pick sides on comic or cartoons, murrica vs nippon, theres good material everywhere and you stunt your own imagination by only picking one especially when inspiration gets shared between the two already .
I'd gladly fallow under her commands~ youtube.com
pretty much this
Who the fuck is the third woman you faggot?
a cute loli judge from indonesia

Don't call shit good.
They can start by pulling the stick out of their asses.
how so? they seems pretty humble in general, i never seen a mangaka looking down on american comic
No surprise that the best anime are the ones that take inspiration from the west.
care to give some examples? i can't really see your point
Thirded
>They follow us
how so?
expand your point please
more like "the co/pe"
First, not using colors is way cheaper. Second, color doesn't make bad art into good art.
