Huge Superman fag here, loved the character all my life, generally no era I dislike, even liked a lot New 52 and I'm just wondering why the fuck is our fanbase so shitty? I've met some super cool Superman fans (no pun intended) but a lot of fans here and online in general are absolute insufferable faggots who act nothing like the character they supposedly love so much, what drives nuts the most is when they just like one era and shit on any other era and anyone who likes it. Also why put down other heroes and fandoms? Just enjoy shit you like and ignore the rest goddamn the character has 80 years of history stop being faggots especially to people who don't have your snowflake taste.

Even on this shitty board, I have the impression that most or us Supesfags are quite alright. Even though I also like all eras, I disagree that you should have to like all eras. Everyone has different tastes and people should accept that.
I really can't recall any actual FANbase of DC characters to be shit. It's mostly people who aren't really into characters but act like they are who shit up threads. Examples would be Bat"fans", GL-"fans", and Spidey"fans". Hardcore fans know that there are great and poor runs and are able to talk about it in a respectful way (if they're not actively having some bants. All I can say is that people should try to give some proper input in every thread, no matter how cancerous the people are

I don't see anything wrong with Injustice. A character who has been around for 80 years and who has almost always been a good guy, an ideal of justice etc. should be able to get a dark version without people freaking the fuck out. It's even an elseworld, meaning that it's disconnected from the main universe. Hell, they even have a good Supes in Injustice even though that wasn't necessary

Evil Superman was done before Injustice a few times, I honestly think it's the worst take on an evil Superman. Jurgens who I'm not huge on did something very similar in the 90s, a nuke blows up Metropolis and Superman starts to take control but it was done very well and in character, Injustice has too much video-game logic for me, characters acting stupid to force conflict but I also think that's Tom Taylors writing.

Life-long superfriend here, I think actually Superman is a bit of a filter in that DC fans who are just straight-up batfags or other casuals/edgelords get filtered by the "he's too powerful, you can't have good stories about him" meme so the real heads get it.

I love the Golden/Silver/Bronze/Post-Crisis versions too, for various reasons, but I do feel like post-Rebirth the character has definitely stagnated. I thought we were in for an interesting status quo changeup with Superbro running around in a T-shirt righting the street-level wrongs of America and Superdad taking care of the big shit behind the scenes, as a kind of black-ops Superman, but of course they had to smoosh them together and give us a blander version of 90s Superman, and then, of course, Bendis happened.

I still hold out hope that Superbro will pop back up from the Dark Multiverse where we last saw him in Sideways, he seemed like the best of all eras of Superman, but not holding my breath.

He might to some extent but I think he's got too much of an innate sense of character writing to actually do so. JLA's Supes reads too down-to-Earth (as he should), but One Million Prime/All-Star seem like a slightly aloof but benevolent demigod. Superbro seemed like a split between the two, which is why I liked him so much.

As much as he sometimes is good about playing ball (mentioning HiC in GL recently, or a B&R Tomasi arc in Batman, Inc), Morrison's got his own headcanon he likes to play by. As far as he's probably concerned, Superbro went straight from his Action arc to somehow being lost in the Dark Multiverse and teaming up with the Seven Soldiers.

(Similarly, I don't think the logo in his GL1 was Dr. Manhattan's, I think it was Allan Adam/Earth-3 Captain Atom's forehead logo, but he left that one vague on purpose, I'm sure.)
