What are your thoughts on using death or extreme violence against an individual as a plot catalyst? Is it lazy writing or sometimes a necessary evil by a villainous character?
What are your thoughts on using death or extreme violence against an individual as a plot catalyst...
good if it’s done well
bad if it isn’t
if it’s the death of a minor character it usually doesn’t matter
There's nothing wrong with killing off characters as a plot catalyst, IF it's done well.
I'm perfectly okay with all the casual murder that goes on in modern Star Wars comics.
I'm less okay with edgy dogshit like Ultimatum or Ruins.
People die, this is common knowledge
It's bad when done for free for the sake of edgyness like in Millar or Ennis or Loeb books.
It's good if done by someone like Moore.
been awhile since i posted this.
I don’t really like death as a catalyst because nowadays it’s a bit lazy and in ensemble type stuff there’s usually not much of a status quo change behind early death. Violence and excessive force is usually a lot more personal, and even manipulation is something I prefer more; death is just rarely as compelling and impressive.
this is just false though
We should ban women from film and television, only solution
Gaslighting feminazi
Rarely earned and even more rarely actually necessary. The idea that realistic deaths are important for a story about wizards or whatever where an implausible number of important characters still survive has always been dubious. The idea that a character might be absolved of past actions or reach some logical conclusion by dying is usually even more ridiculous.

Do your civic duty.
Women deserve more gruesome and gratuitous deaths in fiction. I say this as a femanon. Women get coddled too much, I want to see them die horribly. Women dont like other women, never listen to one who lies and says otherwise.
>men unironically believe this
Every day I become more inclined to separatism
The only way for them to approve is to agree with them about everything, otherwise they can always find a way to say that you're wrong and your work is a part of an evil culture.
Then you'll get kneecapped later, especially if you didn't agree with them about everything in the first place.
>"boo hoo this series for children about an evil space empire and rebels doesn't talk about feelings and mental health problems each issue"
>"also will you consider me desirable for saying this? please respond"
Boy this sure does look like a thread where people are talking about comics and/or cartoons.
So do it.

Who needs women when there is Kamino (and also sexbots)t?
Sure mgtow :^)
Yes, we've all seen your cherry-picked tweets corroborating the tweet you decided you were going to have a meltdown on Zig Forums about. I'm sure these literal whos are really going to move the needle in popular culture.
When women are treated like they can't handle anything dark or stressful, these people cheer.
Why is it progressive in their minds to treat everyone differently?
Wish I could. Themyscara isnt real though and women's (female) spaces are bigoted.
So go make your own space.

Imagine crying over Star Wars.
Iamgine crying over a Star Wars comic.
On one hand I agree that comics are to edgy these days. On the other if you’re crying because a side character in a comic tie in to a 40 year old movie died you have problems

That's too much work, she just wants to be a typical internet white feminist and bitch about shit online while not doing anything because she knows she'd be too much of a coward to actually tell some trannies to fuck off if they invaded "her space."
Oh cool this thread derailed super quick.
