>It doesn’t matter. Nothing matters.
It doesn’t matter. Nothing matters
>-M-morty
INNNNNNNN THE ENNNNNNNND! IT DOESN'T EVEN MAAAAATTERRRR!
It was better what Carl said it.
Everything Matters
People just dont like to think about it
>It matter, everything matters
I watched that scene he says it. It's just to reply to Frylock asking about his name during that wedding with the mail order bride. Not as profound as I remembered it.
>hoohohohoahahahahahahahahahahohohohohahahahhahahahahhehehehehhehahahahahhahahahahahahahhahahohehohaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahaha
>That's where you're wrong bitch
>That moment when you realize that according to the movie's established logic, Owlman said that it didnt matter and didnt save himself because right after Batman teleported him away, it still created an alternate branching dimension, one where Owlman did care and chose to stop the device from exploding, meaning that the alternate Owlman eventually did manage to teleport back to Prime Earth and destroy it alongside all realities after all, and there was nothing that Batman or any of the Justice League could have done about it
he's right though he had just learned that there's infinite universes and his is inconsequential I wouldn't care much about life if I was just one potential me among trillions even more so if the main me had just killed me
It's more that when he was presented with a binary choice of blowing up the prime universe with a bomb he realized that even if he did it, his act of destruction would create a series of universes where he failed. You can't destroy the possibility of not destroying.
IT DOESN'T MATTER THAT IT DOESN'T MATTER!
If nothing matters, everything matters
if nothing matter then why the fuck did he tried to do anything in the first place?
i really hate "smart, nihilistic and with a wicked sense of humor" characters that are written by morons
Because he was in still in shock and suffering from Existential Crisis, Owlman is similar to Ozymandias and MCU Thanos.
>Existential Crisis
Was that an event?
Yes.
Yeah, it happens about once a year where I lie awake in bed and contemplate the enormity of infinity. Spoiler Alert it fucking sucks.
He wanted to destroy the multiverse of endless choices, seeing it as the only "real" choice one could make.
That's dumb.
Only once a year? Lucky you
He wants to do things that matter.
That fight scene is awesome
The whole point was that that was the base universe that all those branch universes spawn from. The reason he said it was because he knew that eventually another version of him would succeed.
Unironically good philosophy there.
Shouldn’t he have realized that some version of him could have succeeded earlier than him, proving that his plan wouldn’t work the way he expected it to?
Nihilists are tiring. Even if it's a complete facade, I'd rather people believe in something they care about.
No shit, read.
He was wrong at the foundation. The Prime Universe location he was going to blow up should have been full of an infinite amount of Batmen and Owlmen trying to blow it up or stop it from being blown up. The fact that the entire multiverse only shit out a single one of each at that location means it mattered.
Multiple reasons.
First, going to another timeline would make a new timeline, and everything that happens there would make more timelines, so you can't just chop down the tree of reality, or whatever.
Second, also my response to is that he's stuck looking at the bigger picture, which makes just about every singular thing look irrelevant, when he should look at the smaller picture and actually think about how things actually affect him, and whatever he cares about, if anything, because the multiversal goings on really shouldn't matter to him unless it involves him. His choices are relevant for his timeline, so unless other timelines get thrown into the situation, that's the only one that he should give a damn about, and even then, it's not like all of infinity is going to cross every single universe, so there's still only a finite amount of universes that matter, and therefore, what he does could matter.
Or, he just invented a new branch that was really low.
I'm too focused on the capitalization in that post to see how it's relevant to me pointing out that his reasoning made no sense.
Also I haven't actually watched the movie, so I'm going off of what other anons here have said.
