When I was a child, I drew a Ren and Stimpy comic where they get invitations to a big Muddy Mud Skipper movie premiere. They get LOG brand tuxedos for the event, but run into trouble along the way to the event. Dogs sniff at them, they are chased by lumber jacks who try to chop them up, and it ended with them getting attacked by termites leaving only skeletal remains.

That actually sounds pretty funny and true to the spirit of the show.

Stimpy jerks off Ren for the entire 22 minutes, but Ren can't climax.

I've pitched this idea a thousand times, and I'm going to keep pitching it until it actually happens.

So, most important thing about the show was the variety of stories they were able to tell. Sure, there were a few constants. Ren was always mentally unstable asshole, and Stimpy was always a simple-minded punching bag. No matter how much conflict there could be between them, they always needed each other, because it was them against a cruel, scary world.

But everything beyond that constantly changed. They could be cowboys. They could be astronauts. Most episodes were funny, but some could be scary. One of the best episodes, Son of Stimpy, actually made me cry. Ren and Stimpy covered a large range of emotions.

My point is, forget having one group of writers or board artists or trying to keep a consistent style. I want the show to be a revolving door of a bunch of different people, all with different ideas on what to do with the characters. Make the show into an experimental playground like Space Dandy, one of my favorite animes and a show that really deserved another season.

People have complained about random board artists on Adventure Time having too much freedom to do what they wanted. This is the show where absolute freedom and anarchy is needed. I want Ren and Stimpy episodes that cover every genre, tone, and setting imaginable.

With that said, it's a real shame Rebecca Sugar is trying to blackball the show, because I'd love to see what an episode directed by her would be like. Her work is so different from Spumco that I can't even imagine what it would look like. But I'd love to see!
