It's a classic in Europe, everybody knows it. It's well animated, comfy and very clever. And it doesn't shy away from nudity, blood or rape.

It spans through 26 episodes and talks about the original Siberian settlers, the Native Americans, the Aztecs, the Spanish colonies, the Pilgrims, the Far West, the declaration of independance, Pocahontas, the Civil Warb etc

The Space one isn't educational, it's actually a space opera. It was the second made so they hadn't quite figured out they'd go educational all the way after that. As a result it's the best of them all.

Eh, sort of. The Earth one in 2008 was crappy and went largely unnoticed, and the last one before that was in 1997, so it's largely a late gen X/Millenial thing. No kid today knows about it, and few young adults. The kassos parody is probably the most exposure the series has had in recent years, and that doesn't count for much.

It was feeling around what it wanted to be throughout its run.
Some episodes were more connected with others than others, sometimes the plot was dropped for an episode ortwo so we could get some snippets of info around here and there, like how termites work, the sizes and names of planets in solar system and some basics on greek mythology and some basic info on aztecs.
How did all of those things come together?
