>Water symbolizes love, community, and adapting to change
>Korra embodies none of these things
Worst Avatar ever.

>Water Bender
>Temperament of a fire bender
>Has problems air bending
It just doesn't make sense.

Is there any character who could possibly bring out the best in Korra?

Aang was overpowered and one-dimensional. Korra was a response to that.

Bolin if written correctly since Whorra is too-bitchy to be goofy.
Nice bait. Got me to reply.

Kyoshi was a shitty earthbender even though that's her native element. Korra is a proverbial hothead who would rather punch something angrily than think things through, so it makes sense she has more affinity towards fire and earth than her native element water (which involves redirecting rather than taking things head on)

Air is the opposite of earth and fire in that conflict is avoided, the complete opposite of Korra's head on approach. Most Avatars have the personality of their native element, but not necessarily all of them. The element they always have the more trouble with is the one that is opposite their personality

to show that bending doesnt take your temperament into account
if it did iroh wouldve been an air bender, sokka and toph wouldve been firebenders, and zuko wouldve been a water bender
lazy people with no drive would be the only non-benders

Yeah, she didn't act at all like a waterbender, she would've been a better earthbender or firebender.

That said, I think it's interesting how they worked with that. In the original series, they made it sound like avatars always struggle with the opposite of their element - Aang struggled with earth because he was air, so the opposite would be true, and therefor a water tribe avatar should struggle with fire. Korra had an interesting twist here - because her personality was actually very well suited to fire, she struggled with air, showing that it's more contingent on personality.

Not that that justifies it. But I think it's also worth considering how flexible things things are with personality. Personality-wise, Uncle Iroh had none of the impulsiveness of the Fire Nation - he was graceful, patient, and kind. King Bumi was fine for the Earth Kingdom, but his personality actually best fits the Air Nomads.

Iroh was based af and calmed down to fulfil his role of Zuko's mentor. He embodied fire, but was strong and experienced enough to master an air temperament.

Toph was stubborn as a nut, very earth.
Sokka was very adaptable, very water.
Zuko was firey, angry and determined, very fire.

Break the power creep of the series.

swap yanchen and kyoshi
yanchen was so good and effective that even after her death there was peace for years.
all kyoshi did was make a island and create a fucked up cult that took a stranglehold over the earthkingdom

can somebody please clarify if people within ba sing se knew about the war or if they were all brainwashed into forgetting about it, so that i dont have to rewatch the show

right so if fire temperament can vary vastly between irohs always chill Marijuana hippy, azulas unhinged madness, zukos self loathing, and ozais malice then korra is acceptable as the crashing wave kind of water tribe character since theyve literally only written flowing rivers

If anything, she is more like an Earth bender. Super stubborn and has very strong convictions. Water isn't always peaceful and calm, it can strong and violent like a tsunami or a raging river.

Bending isn't a personality user.

>crashing wave kind of water tribe character

That's Tonraq or Noatak. Korra is fire bender.

They weren't brainwashed, propaganda just heavily suppressed any news of the war, to the point that people assumed it was a fringe conflict at the far edges of the kingdom and not literally outside their gates. Ba Sing Se was so self-sufficient and insular that it was easy to just keep out any potential news of the war from outsiders.

ok, so then what was the brainwashing and the joo dees for?

Dissidents that stir up trouble.

no those two are more sinister cold deep ocean types
korra is a crashing wave

>hyper aggressive asshole has trouble passively adapting
Makes perfect sense

No, pure water tribe heritage.

>nobody posted the comic

what are you even saying she isn't just a waterbender

>temperament of a fire bender
History revisionists would want you to not remember the Avatar cartoon beginning by Katara having a temper big enough to snap the iceberg Aang was trapped inside.

She is literally a firebender.

Based.

Korra belongs in chains, as do all Waster Tribe girls.

*Water
fucking hell

We already had Katara, we don't need another main character waterbender with the personality of water
