TV channels around the world have gotten their biggest audience in years for playing "Black Panther" those last few days. You got the most important people on TV, the most important people on Hollywood, the most important people on music, sports, academia, all repeating "Wakanda Forever" the past week. The Mouse is many things, but "blind" isn't one of them.

There's no way in hell they are looking at this and thinking "yep, we cannot use this character that just got massively more popular too earn a single dime anymore".

Why would someone be stupid enough to do that? It makes sense to retire him in the movies because they have a different story going. It makes no sense for them to get rid of him permanently in the comics.

OP seems to believe that Marvel is only "allowed" to publish stories that are going to serve the MCU.

My impression is that it's because they want to create synergy between the comics and the movies. So that whatever is represented in the comics lines up with what is seen in the movies.
The biggest issue here is that Marvel will still want to make more Black Panther movies. Cap and Tony are done but in an expected way, where they weren't expected to show up in any more movies. My guess is that they'll either scrap future Black Panther movies (in which case T'Challa will be left as is) or they'll replace T'Challa with Shuri or someone else, in which case they'll try to keep the comics in line with the movies, at least at first

Dont be dumb. Before he even made his MCU debut, he was pr popular and that didnt stop the tons of BP comics and cartoon apearances from being made beforehand. He'll be fine, if anything they'll probably either freeze his live action appearances or pull a Terrance Howard/ Ed Norton and recast

My guess is that that would milk this by having a big send-off comic for T'Challa, maybe to finish up Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda and then more or less retire the character and have the Black Panther comics focus on Shuri or some such. But I imagine they'd want to avoid using a character who can't show up in his own movies anymore.
I'm just trying to think of this from the perspective of the suits at Disney and whether they would scrap potential Black Panther 2 money or just give t'challa a big dramatic send-off before replacing him with Shuri (at least until they stop making Black Panther movies)

My impression was that they'd want to distance their x-men from the Fox movies since, well, the fox movies covered a lot of the most famous shit.
I think the main gist would be to get out from the shadow of the Fox movies and their perfect casting and create new associations that people have with the x-men.

Because it's their biggest moneymaker. My impression would be that they would want to keep some semblance of parity while they're making movies for the character. I doubt they'll kill T'Challa off for good but they will keep him out of the spotlight when if they introduce Shuri as the successor in BP2

They should just end the MCU. Most people were done with it after Endgame anyway.
