How's that animation career coming along, user?
How's that animation career coming along, user?
I'm not going to be animator. you see, i'm what they call an ideas guy...
I'm the guy who gives cunnilingus to the female women animators to increase their productivity.
I don't want to be an animator, i dont want my life work to be the stuff posted on /co or /v.
I've tried animating before, but I'm kinda still stuck at the drawing phase, I should animate more.
Not bad for starting late. I got a part of a reel I shelved to work on after semester that's still pretty rough.
I’ve been in the animation industry for a few years and I’m leaving it. Moving out of LA. It has already changed so much since even I’ve shown up but especially with the way things are now with every single creator having to apologize for every single thing they say and the horrible horrible fan base I just can’t take it anymore. Fuck this industry. And yes, I’ve worked on shows you talk about here.
The first mistake was going into the industry. Draw porn instead, you make more money, and can be on your own terms (And dont have to sign away your life.)
I'm sorry to hear you had a shit time with it, but that's to be expected when working with burgers at anytime.
hows that gig going for you user?
Proof of gtfo
I got a cushty job as an "animator" for a company that has nothing to do with animation. They hired me to create marketing/web material in-house and I'm given a crazy amount of creative freedom.
That said, it's not storytelling animation, so I'm working on a personal project in my spare time. Thanks OP, now I'm motivated to get back to it.
pics or didn't happen
I'm the opposite, I want to animate and storyboard but have no ideas.
You are not alone
I'm gonna get lunch uptown, chill with a beer or two and practice my studies.
I'm the same, but I'm trying to come up with ideas. I'm wanting something with mechs in and with a political fiction base. I don't know how to further the idea other than watching more gundam to get a better idea on how to write it.
What does the Industry think of Hazbin Hotel and the rise of indie animations getting pick up?
>Wanting to get "MeToo" or forced to draw lesbians.
No thanks better wait another decade
Well, I’m in school now. Better late than never.
Fuse with the ideas guy
Yeah I'm just doing multiple Webcomics until someone higher notices and I get my 3 seasons before living off the rerun money until I die, meanwhile I draw furry shit either for money or to attract a crowd that will pay me to draw furry shit
It's going great!
fuck animation, I can draw a comic on my own
damn, can you connect me to the based department?
Starting anything to get cancelled by Zig Forumstards? No thanks.
Feels like my chances of getting an animation career would increase if I dyed my hair and started kissing women. I’m a girl btw.
Anyone else noticing comics getting turned into cartoons? Not talking about cape stuff, stuff like Kipo and Cannon Busters were both made from indie comics that barely had any issues. I'm hoping more will come of it, considering how it's the way it works in Japan. Like comics don't need to appeal to as many people as animation is supposed to, and I'm assuming the deadlines are lot more lax.
Getting better. since I started working at Starbucks I don't cry about how my life has spiraled too damn far away from my dreams every single night now. I'm too busy for that.
That has always been true. In the 70s and 80s they were giving animated series to sunday comic strips. A lot of series began as a comic, webcomic, or something the creator doodles and somehow it got noticed. A lot of people just never really knew that a few series used to be comics.
It would be nice if the US had a more robust comic industry that was a little better than Big 2 Capeshit companies and a hundred tiny, almost unknown other companies out imitating them, while the books are only available in specialty comic shops.
The one thing that Japan has that I wish we had here is a major mainstream publisher that prints creator driven work. It leads to a massively huge amount of different stuff to read and make series out of. Even if 85% of it is shonenshit. It's at least several dozen different worlds, characters, and plots and not the same damn setting created in the 60s kept on life support today.
You’ve gotta send people your shit if you want them to notice the odds of them just stumbling upon it are extremely low
